Strapped down and heavy, tied up
And bound
This weight I carry, this weight
I've found
So, let me be the one to say I've
Really had enough

Downfallen on
(Yes, you meant the world to me)
My sweet love
So headstrong
(Are you?)
Strong

One time too many
You've let me down
Won't think what could be
Can' feel much now

Downfallen on
(Yes, you meant the world to me)
My sweet love
So headstrong
(Are you?)
Strong

Does it really meant that much to you,
To hide your fear, to test the way I feel

Watch me fall
Watch me break
Watch me crawl
Watch me throw it all away

I can't believe the things you say, so
Wrong for how I eel this way
I'm sleeping to relieve this strain so...
Calmly, slowly, softly, just let it all
Just drift away

Unique sound, I was impressed upon first hearing it. He ends the song in a strong manner... in such a way you have to listen to the song again and again just to get the feeling over and over. Earshot may be building something of a huge fanbase here soon.

i'm not trying to bag on earshot or anything, i like the song and all, but they don't really have a very original sound. when i first heard this song, i thought it was tool. there's nothing wrong with it of course, but call it what it is: good, but unoriginal music.

The lead singer of Earshot (Wil Martin) may sounds like Maynard, but music and lyric wise i don't think they sound like Tool at all.

nothing like dissing a band just because the frontman sounds similar to someone else, eh?

Original in what sense? Tool's musical composition (6/4 and 7/8 times) are quite different from not just earshot, but from many other artists. Plus, their sound is highly polished (in a good way), coherent and difinitive. Earshot definitely sticks more to the typical music structure of contemporary rock music (intro, verse, chorus, verse, chorus, bridge/interlude, extended chorus) while Tool is on a whole other world. I'm a big fan of both bands, but I know very well that they aren't all that similar. Try to look at it from a musical perscpective (orchestration, composition, arragement, lyrical) rather than comparing vaguely similar vocal styles and guitar riffs/equalization/distortion (that is, if you are a musician YOURSELF).

look, either way, they're not original... alright? you're saying you don't find them similar to tool... fine. but i don't think you could reasonably argue that earshot is original. that was my point.

Cranberries, The
"Zombie" is about the ethno-political conflict in Ireland. This is obvious if you know anything of the singer (Dolores O'Riordan)'s Irish heritage and understood the "1916" Easter Rising reference. "Another head hangs lowly Child is slowly taken And the violence caused such silence Who are we mistaken - Another mother's breaking Heart is taking over" Laments the Warrington bomb attacks in which two children were fatally injured on March 23rd, 1993. Twelve year old Tim Parry was taken off life support with permission from his mother after five days in the hospital, virtually braindead. "But you see it's not me It's not my family" References how people who are not directly involved with the violence feel about it. They are "zombies" without sympathy who refuse to take action while others suffer.

@Kahiara Actually I think the husband passed away, "She sang for you last night She heard you were calling" Many people say they have felt, heard, or seen their loved ones after they have passed. "Don't be scared now Close your eyes She holds guard tonight Go on forward no remorse Life will take it's course" This is said to the late husband by a third part (never named), who encourages him to pass on. Because life will eventually continue. The phrase "holds guard" refers to the ( en.wikipedia.org/wiki/… ) which is a Christian ceremony held after someone dies. Now it is usually held right after the funeral, but in most celtiic countries the wake is held before the funeral. "She danced with you last night so you will remember All you have shared, a lifetime." This sentence feels as if the only thing it wants to convey is their history together, namely, husband and wife. For the rest it just refers back to the first verse.
