And if you could make up
For every single time you lied
I'd probably whisper this
Hello, goodbye
And so it begins again
Harder each and every time
I start to reminisce
I never seem to ever find

Someone I can trust
Someone I believe
Someone who will never try
To bring me to my knees
Someday I will find again
Someone just like me
Someone who will take the time
In understanding me

And if I could make up
For every single tear you cried
I'd probably never miss
Your hand in mine
I never could understand
Mistakes I repeat again
I've been through this so many times
Never seem to ever find

I've stopped searching
To take my time and completely clear my head
I believe it was meant to be
And I feel it's time to go

And never leave
And never scream
Someone who believes
Never lies to me
And would die for me

Basically the girls this guy gets in relationships with never seem to be the right ones. They don't fully undrstand him and mostly fuck him over! He just wants to find someone to clique with. Best line "I never could understand/Mistakes I repeat again." My thoughts on that line, maybe they're just the ones making the mistakes and he isn't.

Totally agreeing with everyone else, he always ends up in the same place and it's a vicious cycle I got to experience, been single for the past 5 years cause of it! Most amazing lyrics ever, my top song on zune! :P

I have found that someone the way he wants to in the song, just too bad I was too messed up from these trust issues from past relationships to let him know how I feel and now he wants someone else and even admitted to liking me before :( sucks...

Great song... Pretty easy one to figure out. But God do i totally understand what he is saying. Spend two years on a girl just for her to walk up and calmly say i dont really love you anymore, but can we still be friends... Yah... SOme one needs to come save me.

Yea, this is a great inspirational song because he's not really giving up on finding the right one just for him. He believes that someday somone that's right just for him will be with him. It's also pretty catchy too :).

Sounds like he feels the futility of relationships, but is trapped in the cycle; then catches himself (And I've stopped searching//To take my time//And completely clear my head), but by the end of the song, is back in the cycle. It almost seems like saying "That's it, fuck the cycle, I'm staying single," is actually part of the cycle.

He's looking for his soul mate, someone that except everything that makes him who he is, who understands how he feels. I'm searching too dude. "I feel it's time to go" to find "Someone I can trust...Someone just like me" Someone who never leaves "Never lies to me... And would die for me"

I love the lyrics in this song.

"And if you could make up For every single time you lied I'd probably whisper this Hello, goodbye" Those are such awesome lyrics right there. I think "hello, goodbye" is his way of saying "great you've tried to justify your actions and you're trying to undo you're wrongs. I accept you're sorry, but it still won't make up for every lie you've told.

I agree that he's looking for his soulmate and is searching for someone who will accept him for who he is.

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
