It hangs on a wall
Museum hall
As it calls to passers by
A picture so bright

Seen without light
And nobody wonders why
A tired old man stares at the wall
Said the color's blinding me

How can he see
Anything at all
Since he's got no eyes to see

It's not too faded
I still see that color coming through
It's not too jaded
The more you look, the more you see

Years ticked away
Colors turned gray
But the man's still standing there
Once asked him why

He said cause I am the last one here who cares
Told me the mind will show you more
If you only set it free
He closed the door

I closed my eyes
That's when I began to see

It's not too faded
I still see that color coming through
It's not too jaded
The more you look, the more you see

It's not too faded
I still see that color coming through
It's not too jaded
The more you look, the more you see

It's not too faded
I still see that color coming through
It's not too jaded
The more you look, the more you see

It's not too faded
I still see that color coming through
It's not too jaded
The more you look, the more you see

It's not too faded
It's not too faded
The more you look, the more you see

This is my favorite song on their latest cd my fav. part is where they go "once asked him why, he said cause I am the last one here who cares." The story is about a painting in a museum getting less appreciation then it should and an old man who just stares at it and says the colors aren't that faded despite what people might think. Symbollically, I think the painting resembles life or society and the man "it's not to jaded, the more you look the more you see" is saying it's not doomed.

i see the man as being blind ("how can he see anything at all since he's got no eyes to see")... and i think it's symbolizing the fact that if you couldn't physically see than you would see so much more out of life or maybe if you would just close your eyes sometimes.. and in the end.. he closed his eyes.. and that's when he began to see ... to see the true beauty of something sometimes it takes more than just physically looking at it...

yea, this song rocks, and i agree, that its talking about an underapreciated painting in a museum, but it also represents life, and everything that we come accross that we doubt, becouse"the more you look, the more you see"

I think the picture hanging on the wall symbolizes that old saying, "Don't judge a book by its cover" and I interpret it like this: Even though the outside is becoming faded and old, there's still life inside and that its still a wonderful thing.

Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it. “I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
