Skies are crying
I am watching
Catching tear drops in my hands
Only silence
Has an ending
Like we never had a chance

Do you have to
Make me feel like
There is nothing left of me

You can take everything I have
You can break everything I am
Like I'm made of glass
Like I'm made of paper
Go on and try to tear me down
I will be rising from the ground
Like a skyscraper
Like a skyscraper

As the smoke clears
I awaken
And untangle you from me
Would it make you
Feel better
To watch me while I bleed

All my windows
Still are broken
But I'm standing on my feet

You can take everything I have
You can break everything I am
Like I'm made of glass
Like I'm made of paper
Go on and try to tear me down
I will be rising from the ground
Like a skyscraper
Like a skyscraper

Go run run run
I'm gonna stay right here
Watch you disappear ya yaa
Go run run run
Ya it's a long way down
But I am closer to the clouds up here

You can take everything I have
You can break everything I am
Like I'm made of glass
Like I'm made of paper
Go on and try to tear me down
I will be rising from the ground
Like a skyscraper
Like a skyscraper

(Like a skyscraper)
Like a skyscraper
Like a skyscraper

    Song Meaning

Actually, this wasn't written by Demi. It was also recorded before she went and got help. She said she tried re-recording it once she was out of rehab, but she just couldn't get the same emotion so they stuck with this. She said that even though she hadn't written it, she just HAD to sing it. She sung it while she was going through all that. No one really knows the meaning exactly behind it, but we all relate to it in some ways just like Demi did. I'm not a big Demi fan, but I wish she was picked up by someone other than Disney. I hate how she gets grouped with those other Disney girls, who's voices are auto-tuned to the max... She's got such a powerful and natural voice, it's amazing. I admire her and I'm so proud of her for what she did and what she's trying to do. She's a good person. She needs to get out of Disney and go record with a better company. She would make it much farther.

I was listening to this song on 9/11 and in a strange way, I found it fitting. No matter when the song was written or how you slice it, it's about hope. It's about being knocked down, but then getting up, dusting yourself off, and rebuilding, even while people are watching you and giving you shit for it. I thought of America, and how ten years ago the 9/11 attacks devastated. But we've regrouped, just like we always will.

This song is all about fortitude and rising above the trials and tribulations that we face in our lives. Everyone is battling something and I think many people can relate to this song and find it relevant to their lives. In the first verse of the song Demi sings, “Skies are crying, I am watching”. The way Demi refers to rain is very interesting to me. The “skies are crying” creates a depressing mood. Rain is often associated with sadness and she is watching as if to manifest in this sadness. The next line “catching teardrops in my hand” represents the connection she feels to the sadness symbolized by the rain. The next line reads, “Only silence as it’s ending like we never had a chance”. I think the “like we never had a chance” part refers to the struggle you are facing. You never have the chance to be happy if you focus on your struggles and let them ruin you. Silence can be very peaceful. As you end your relationship with your struggles and pain, you will find peace. The last line in the first verse “Do you have to make me feel like there’s nothing left of me?” is a rhetorical question and emphasizes how little you can feel when people break you down until you literally feel like you are out of willpower. It’s an awful feeling and no one deserves to understand that pain.

    My Interpretation

I think that it means don't listen to the people who are giving you sh!t. you'll rise up and be ahead of them in the end.

Just the emotion in her voice gives me goosebumps. It's definitely about coming out of an unfortunate situation and telling that person that yeah, you hurt me but it's not going to kill me.

This is obviously about everything she had to go through in her life these past couple of years. Yes, she might be directing portions of this song at someone specific - like the media, or perhaps a blogger who made fun of her struggles.... But i really think this is mostly for her own benefit, as a response to her inner struggles.......and i tell ya, i've never been into music from people like Demi, or the Jonas Brothers, or Hannah Montanna, or Bieber-boy....but i'm in LOVE with this song. You can hear the passion in her voice when she sings now, and it's so much more than some teeny-bopper crap. I'm officially a fan of Demi L., and i hope the rest of her new album is mature and impassioned like this!! =D

It's about conquering something. Winning the battle of something, in Demi's case this is depression, cutting, and her eating disorder.

Skies are crying, I am watching- she's observing it. Catching tear drops in my hands- it's affecting her. Only silence as it's ending- it's quiet as it ends. Like we never had a chance- they never had a chance of being together happy. (Demi & her disorders) Do you have to make me feel like There's nothing left of me?- it makes her feel like she's weakened and worn down.

[Chorus:] You can take everything I have - disorders can take everything she has good in her life You can break everything I am- disorders can break her appearance & how she's viewed. Like I'm made of glass- she feels weak like glass Like I'm made of paper - she feels weak like paper Go on and try to tear me down- disorders are going to try and ruin her life I will be rising from the ground - she'll rise and be stronger and overcome them. Like a skyscraper- she'll overcome them like a skyscraper. Like a skyscraper

[Verse 2:] As the smoke clears, I awaken- it's clear and she's back to normal Demi I untangle you from me- she gets the disorders away from her. Would it make you feel better To watch me while I bleed?- Would cutting make the disorders stop? All my windows still are broken- she's still somewhat broken and not fully cured But I'm standing on my feet - but she's better than before and can handle it.

[Chorus:] (repeat as above) You can take everything I have You can break everything I am Like I'm made of glass Like I'm made of paper Go on and try to tear me down I will be rising from the ground Like a skyscraper Like a skyscraper

[Bridge:] Go run, run, run- disorders, go away. I'm gonna stay right here, -she's gonna stay and let them go. Watch you disappear- watch them leave. Yeah, oh Go run, run, run Yeah, it's a long way down- disorders can go to hell. But I am closer to the clouds up here- she can go to heaven.

[Chorus:] You can take everything I have You can break everything I am Like I'm made of glass Like I'm made of paper Oh Oh Go on and try to tear me down- disorders try and ruin her. I will be rising from the ground- she'll overcome them Like a skyscraper Like a skyscraper

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.
