I want to maintain my things
Put the remainder in debris and ash
Tear up, throw away
Crush, pick to pieces
I go at the garden fence along
Again I sense this pressure
I have to destroy
Yet it may not belong to me
I have to destroy
Yet it may not belong to me

No

I take your seven special
And would defeat them
Take apart, Break down
Don’t ask, smash to pieces
And now the King discipline
Rip the head of the doll
Injure, shred, disintegrate
Destroy
Yet it may not belong to me
I have to destroy

No

I’m going to destroy something
Yet it may not belong to me
I want to be a good boy
Yet the desire overtakes me
I have to destroy
Yet it may not belong to me

No

Tear up, throw away
Crush, pick to pieces
Swipe, cut up
Don’t ask, smash to pieces
Shred, injure
Burn then run
Take apart, break down
Break, take revenge

He met a girl, she was blind
Divided sorrow and same minded
Saw a falling star
Wishing she could see again

She opened her eyes
Lost them yet the same night

I think it's about someone (probaly a guy) with a contuing drive to destroy to feel power. Sounds a bit like battery to me, or fuel and benzin? anyhow... I think the 4 lines before the last 2 are about that he has finally found someone who shares his drive to destroy which can finally give him peace in his hart. to thank her for that he makes a wish for her to see. The wish is granted but again the fact that it happens the same night (i guess the urge comes back in jus a few hours) proves that his urge to destroy is unstoppable

Note that muss means more like must than have to.

    So it's "I must destroy."

It is all wanton destruction until the last 6 lines. Those lines are the most interesting part of the song. They seem to have nothing to do withthe rest of the song. I wonder what their meaning is?

The "King's Discipline" for those that don't know is a translation of Konigsdiziplin which has no direct equivalent in English. It is often used to denote something that is the best. Here it probably is closer to the phrase "To top it all off."

Standing On The Edge Of Summer

In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Blue
Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.
