It's buried deep within the past and I
Hope it doesn't last
(It's something I already chase, I already chase)
I try to give it all away, but it's never going to fade
(It's something I don't want to face, I don't want to face)
I know you feel it's all the same
But I promise that I'll change
(It's something I already chase, I already chase)
You know I'm trying to believe
That you're never going to leave
(It's something I don't want to face, I don't want to face)

There's nothing left
The fear is gone

[Chorus]
And when my heartstrings come undone
I will wait for you, pray for you
Before I make my final run
I will stay with you, decay with you

I know I'm not the perfect one
And this pain has just begun
(It's something I already chase, I already chase)
You bring me to a better path
And it's everything I lack
(It's something I don't want to face, I don't want to face)

[Chorus]

If you fade out without me
Will you know all about me?
If you fade out without me
Will you know all?

[Chorus]

littlehugs.....before you continue to diss up my favorite band I must now show you how foolish YOU are.

The Demon Hunter symbol is infact a demon skull with rather large horns. Now...may i please draw you're attention to THE BULLET HOLE IN THE SKULLS FOREHEAD! These guys are the personal demon hunters...I have figured that the name originates from them hunting down their own personal demons and sins that torture every Christian's soul. These guys are trying to encourage us to hunt our own demons...such as addiction(Song: Ribcage),.... the ways of the world and other religion (The Science of Lies), ....those depressing time in our life when we wanna give up (The Tide Began to Rise), and encouraging us to be PROUD we are christians (UNDYING!).

These guys are sincerely christian. Visit "thethirdwar.com" and look at their song meanings...it may wake you up.

Until next time...cya! -The Shadow Hawk

To me personally, I see it about sin. A specific sin that's really hard for you to give up. And you promised God so many times that you would stop doing it, but no matter what, you keep turning to it. "i hope it doesn't last It's something i already chased, i already chased"

And everytime you do, you feel seperated from Him. You want to believe that He will keep giving you chances, that He's patient. "trying to believe that you're never gonna leave"

Still, you keep commiting this sin, and eventually you stop fearing God, because you got so used to Him giving you second chances.. "There's nothing left! The fear is gone"

    That's my interpretation.

I know this song is about his wife, but I like to relate it to loving a girl that isnt completely where she needs to be God, but she is sooo close, and you are torn between being with her and your spirituallity, so wait for her, praying that God works it out so you can marry her one day. That is what I relate it to in my life

The song seems best suited to a relationship between two humans, but I suppose one could also relate it quite easily to the relationship between a man and his God.

As was already said, this song was written about his wife, it's about his wholehearted dedication no matter how miserable it makes him, that he would willingly decay with her.

If one were to relate this to one's relationship with God, one could see how a man could attempt to be so dedicated to God that he would actively pursue Him regardless of what suffering or misery he may encounter as a result. Becoming so dependant that he dreads the concept that he may ever be distant from God.

This song, to me, is about being reborn and trying to overcome sin.

Demon Hunter is christian hardcore. Just look at their other songs and it will make more sence.

Anyways, yet another great song made by the only christian group I can stand listening to.

I love this song! Its on the Resident Evil Apocolypse soundtrack and it is how I discovered Demon Hunter. My husband is so into Kutless and wanted me to find heavy christian rock similar to Mortification, Tourniquet

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it. “I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
