"I wrote this song after I slept with a woman and I told her that i might be able to love her. I woke up later than night and I realised I was lying. This is my apology because I'm still not man enough to tell here face to face" - Jason Aalon Butler. |

Only thing i can think of beyond the literal is maybe it's about violence against the trans* community. would tie in with the rest of the album a little better?
"What's the best end you can hope for?
Pity fucks and table scraps." |

Against Me! – Two Coffins Lyrics

I reckon something along the lines of some day her daughter is going to grow up and understand what's going and LJG knows that it's going to permanently taint that relationship. She doesn't want this to change, but knows it will.
"I wish you'd stay with me/never change".
For now, she doesn't understand and she reckons one day her daughter will and that'll drive them apart. Could be well wide of the mark though. |

Against Me! – Black Me Out Lyrics

I think you're right.
"As if you were a kingmaker. Black me out.
I don't want to see the world that way anymore,
I don't want to feel that weak and insecure.
As if you were my fucking pimp,
As if I was your fucking whore"
she's fucking angry at Tom Gabel for suppressing who she really was all this time. And "As if you were a Kingmaker" is sort of saying "don't you fucking dare take the credit for revealing who you are when you kept it bottled up all this time". At least that's what I make of it. |

Against Me! – FuckMyLife666 Lyrics

As well as being exactly what you said, the meaning works for anyone who has grown apart from anyone. It applies to anyone, not just because of Laura's transition even though that's undoubtedly the main meaning behind it (silicone chest, collagen lips etc). Lines like "All things made to be destroyed, all moments meant to pass" and the whole "Don't wanna live without teeth, die without bite" stanza are indicative of this. |

Protest the Hero – Drumhead Trial Lyrics

I have no idea what this song is about. The first half of it and the title make it sound like it's about being judged too quickly and unfairly but the last half of it doesn't relate to that. There is a star trek episode called Drumhead Trial though and Rody is a known Trek fan. |

I reckon this is about the Star Wars vs Star Trek franchise battle and how both are being dumbed down by hollywood/disney. |

Dave Mcpherson – I'm Possible Lyrics

This is about an ex girlfriend he really cared for (probably the girl he wrote Daydream Anonymous/Hardship Diaries about, at a guess) who he watched make mistakes in her life. It's sort of an "I don't blame you but I told you so" kind of thing.
Very relatable for many of us I'm sure. Myself included. |

Dream Theater – Lines in the Sand Lyrics

This is about Christians who miss the point of their faith, get preoccupied with salvation and become filled with hate for those who don't conform as a result, which as any christian knows isn't the point of their belief at all. The verses and bridges explain this pretty well.
The chorus is an image of a holier than thou person. They are bogged down in becoming so religious and living perfectly that they forget jesus' suffering (crown of thorns at the side) and are drawing their own lines in the sand, not the ones jesus drew. The first line "Swept away with the tides" is a lament as to how widespread this is, especially in america with small fundamentalist churches all over the shop. |

Dream Theater – I Walk Beside You Lyrics

"loyalty, trust, faith and desire. Carry love through each darkest fire"
It's about supporting someone you love. Nothing more. Petrucci is religious, but I don't think that's what he was gunning for here. |

Dream Theater – Endless Sacrifice Lyrics

It's about a long distance relationship, specifically one between someone who travels and someone who stays at home and hold everything down. Obviously this applies to Petrucci on a personal level. |

To me, that just looks like a lyrical reference to KoRn and nothing more. Korn have a song called Blind (obv...) Feeling Korn could just be another way of referring to blind.
The lyrical genius of Fred Durst... |
