Filthy, Rotten Scoundrel Lyrics
Every days the same for me
People come and people leave
And every days a game for me
Im always losing willingly
I keep telling myself, keep telling myself to be grateful
But thats not good for my health, not good for my health
Maybe my expectations let me down and Im too far off the ground
And I dont know what Ive got til its gone
No I dont know what Ive got til its gone
When Im old and lonely I dont want my life to read:
He was born and then he died and not much happened in between
Maybe my expectations let me down and Im too far off the ground
And I dont know what Ive got til its gone
No I dont know what Ive got til its gone
So Ill work my way through outer space and set my feet on the ground
Maybe my expectations let me down and Im too far off the ground
And I dont know what Ive got til its gone
No I dont know what Ive got til its gone
People come and people leave
And every days a game for me
Im always losing willingly
I keep telling myself, keep telling myself to be grateful
But thats not good for my health, not good for my health
And I dont know what Ive got til its gone
No I dont know what Ive got til its gone
He was born and then he died and not much happened in between
And I dont know what Ive got til its gone
No I dont know what Ive got til its gone
And I dont know what Ive got til its gone
No I dont know what Ive got til its gone

"A song about me [James Veck-Gilodi], the title says enough"
"Scoundrel is simply about me. I am a filthy rotten scoundrel and I need to learn to be grateful and appreciate the opportunities that I have been given. It's also about my fear of living, dying and never really achieving anything. I am not at all an arrogant person but I think if I ever found myself veering towards the way of arrogance then I would listen to this song and hopefully bring myself back down to earth."

I love the tune of this song. I am not sure I quite understand the meaning of the lyrics?
