| Lorde – Buzzcut Season Lyrics

But while it's summer in New Zealand it's winter on the US and most of Europe. So she could be referring to summer metaphorically, as opposing to winter, that could represent the war. While for her it's "so easy in this blue where everything is good" and she lives "in a hologram", on tv she sees the reality in some place else. So I think she is talking about being divided between feeling happy for being safe and warm and feeling like she is so lucky and doesn't really know what some people's reality is. While it's summer for some, it's winter for others. That's what I think |

| Demi Lovato – Skyscraper Lyrics

In my view, this song is directed to Demi's condition. The part about untangling, the "you can take everything"... For me it all seems like she's writing as if she was talking to everything that's been happening to her. I'm not the biggest fan of Demi's music but this song is so deep and so intense, really amazing. |

"This song is not about Daniel Johns's girlfriend. It is about his obsession with death. It shows how depression weighs him down, and death is his way out somehow. He feels "like letting go" of life. "
OOOOOOOOOOUCH didn't see that coming ): |

I think it's possibly about knowing how to control your 'low'. Hijacking your wounds and being able to do good stuff with it, like songs like this :3 |

I think it's totally about the recording of this album, just like Hylas said, getting through all this changing thing. And the insomnia, being tired, being sleepless... all that relating to the recording. |

Yeeeeeeeeahh I always thought about it relating to Freak... like, he was different, and, for that reason, rejected. So he wanted to change to irritate. Whoever is/was a freak in high school has been there, thinking about changing to show that you can be what they want, and prove everyone wrong, but you're just not that way because YOU don't want to.
And yeah, I agree that he means that good will and integrity are dead. People don't care about that stuff no more, they don't care if you're good and whole. If you're different you're weird and don't deserve respect.
I too can relate to it soooooooo bad. |

| Silverchair – After All These Years Lyrics

If it's really about father/son relationship, maybe it's so: he tried a lot to be so much more than he is to make his father proud, that's where 'something more than life' goes. And yes, they've had their problems, their wounds, but they can just forget about it now.
Of course I'm being COMPLETELY superficial and perhaps I'm ALL wrong. But at least this thought is leading me to the understanding of the whole song... hm. |

| Jack's Mannequin – La La Lie Lyrics
|
I thought that the "la la lie" thing was about his girlfriend. Like, he's talking about his friends and about how they'll help him get through this girl and all of her lies and stuff would be kind of covered. Then, by July, I mean, in a while, when he's not confused anymore or 'twisted around', he's gonna write a new ending for his book. At least that's what I understand, like, the book is supposed to have a happy ending, but the real ending wasn't quite good, so it got twisted. But still, he's in love, so he writes songs and draws and stuff cause that's what artists do - express themselves through art and get rid of bad stuff inside them.
But after reading what you all heard, I kind of feel like I got it all wrong! Because it kind of makes sense, what I said, if we take into consideration a few lines, but not so much when we think about the whole song. So I'm pretty confused. |

I thought it was "Call it joy to masturbate" D:
I think it's about him liking somebody, not necessarely a girl, maybe just a friend, and they would go into drugs and leave real friends behind. I'm going through this right now |

"Throw the sailors overboard" - It makes complete sense now! It's exactly that. Okay, abuse me because I'm different and you're just like any other. I don't care anymore. I've been through this a lot, and I know how much this song is gonna help me out now that I've figured it out. Thanks guys, I've read everything you wrote and it helped! |

We can break this drought
Wanna tell ya that I love ya -
You know when you like someone and you feel like playing hard to get? You know the person likes you too but you keep playing games and stuff... I guess that's the drought. Maybe both wanted to pretend like they weren't missing each other, but actually all he wanted to do is say he loves her, and needs her. But at the same time he isn't sure if he should just go "chasing" after her, so he says he wanted to tell her he was alright, just fine with that, and show her he didn't need her. But he actually did.
I think he gets pretty ironic at times. |

"And sharpened nails seem softer" - does this means he's getting through the disease? I got it as if Ana's nails aren't scratching him as hard as they did before.
I definitely don't get the "Sandpaper tears corrode the filth" part D: |

| Juliet Simms – Unhearted Lyrics

Maybe the "red cherry blossom tree" means exactly what InPerfectRuin said, but I think that it could represent a heart, so he marked his name in some heart, but not hers and not on HER heart, maybe in someone else's heart. That's because she's unhearted, or maybe that's the reason that she is unhearted. |
