Insomnia Lyrics

Tomorrow will be another part of yesterday
And yesterday will be another part of the day before

Wait, I hear another song insomnia
About the days I wasn’t tired
And doing that “fun retro look”

I stay awake for days
I stay awake for days
But I’d sit awake in daze anyway
I’m a maze of chains

Hey don’t use the term accommodation
I won’t be there for that and that will never be there for me

And I need to get some sleep slash resolution
About the days I wasn’t tired
And doing that “fun retro thing”

I stay awake for days
I stay awake for days
But I’d sit awake in daze anyway
I’m a maze of chains

Over in the corner of a circle
I sleep behind this bedroom
I see “fun retro look”
Dine behind a suitcase in an empty room
It’s time to leave millions behind
Hey that’s what I took from retro look

I stay awake for days
I stay awake for days
But I’d sit awake in daze anyway
I’m a maze of chains

It’s time to leave millions behind Hey that’s what I took from retro look

This is what spoke the most to me! This is what I think this album does. It will leave millions behind, but its time to do so, perhaps what playing the part and fitting the mold taught him.

also the last part of the song is wrong. The last chorus is slightly different.

I've stayed awake for days I stayed awake for days I've stayed awake for days anyway Im amazed I've changed

love this song!

I actually quite like this song, despite being a grunge-era purist of the band.

Some of their new stuff is quite good, this song has a good sound to it.

I think it's totally about the recording of this album, just like Hylas said, getting through all this changing thing. And the insomnia, being tired, being sleepless... all that relating to the recording.

This is Johns way of saying he's choosing to move on and write the kind of music HE wants to, with no regrets. He no longer cares if people like the newer 'retro' style and he's given up 'losing sleep' over whether or not he'll lose fans or if the new stuff will sell truch-loads.

Clever of him to incorporate the name of Silverchair's first big hit 'Tomorrow' in the opening line... John Lennon would be proud! It's a real shame the band have recently split.
