My Favourite Thing Lyrics
Got my fever down, then weighed it up, and know the
Sounds remaining won't strain all the silt from my eyes
Bleach the green from the pastures, feast on the grey
Of the night, straight from the vines refusal to shine
You're my favourite thing - the one that I love
You're the one so I'd die for your love
Blind the deafened moon, stimulate the tombs of angels
I'll open my heart won't fall apart
Don't fall apart
You're my favourite thing
And I feel like letting go
Sounds remaining won't strain all the silt from my eyes
Bleach the green from the pastures, feast on the grey
Of the night, straight from the vines refusal to shine
You're the one so I'd die for your love
I'll open my heart won't fall apart
Don't fall apart
You're my favourite thing
And I feel like letting go

This song is not about Daniel Johns's girlfriend. It is about his obsession with death. It shows how depression weighs him down, and death is his way out somehow. He feels "like letting go" of life.
i really adore this song. on chairpage.com daniel explains "i guess i've always had an obsession with love and death, so i combined the two and this is what came out."
i'm not sure exactly what this song is about, but i think the lyric "bleach the green from the pastures" is one of the most amazing lines ever, such incredible imagery. beautiful.
'Bleach the green from the pastures, feast on the grey'
I believe this is Daniel talking about his obession with love and death and his love of death. Sometimes people become so involved in their Depression that is how they like themselves.Taking the green from life and feasting on the grey you have created.
i read that some where but it always seem to fit her better but now that i put a little more thought into it it does seem to fit that too...now its sad
To me this song is about being so miserable that no matter what you do you can't even make yourself be happy because your so in love with some one but they don't love you back. In the first verse i think he is saying that just when he started to be the slightest bit happy he thought about this one person that he couldn't have and it made him miserable again
You're my favourite thing And I feel like letting go Love it....
I just received the US advance copy of this album today, and it just blew me away!! Especially this song, because it's so beautiful, and how it combines the elements of love and death. Daniel Johns is a lyrical genius.

When I write, I can totally relate to all of the songs Daniel has written. He has such a deep interest in love and death, and that means a lot to me, because I love hearing his perspectives, thoughts, ideas, ways, etc. of love and death. Most of my poems/lyrics are about love and death, and when I read Daniels, they blow me away. i love you, daniel.
This song is so romantic in such a different and rather offbeat way that it just gets better with every listen.
