| Brighten – I Lost Her Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| 24 plays on my ipod too... the rest of this EP (which is amazing) have about 15 | |
| Brighten – I Lost Her Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| Probably the best song ever written about losing someone and the thoughts and emotions that come along with that feeling. | |
| Brighten – I'll Always Be Around Lyrics | 14 years ago |
This is my transcription of the lyrics.... I'm too tired to compare: Watch as the moonlight creeps into the room. I think I just might wanna be with you too. As I’m dancing down the halls Applying glitter on the walls I cannot wait for you Because I don’t wanna sleep at all But you’ll try to sleep it off And darling I, I can’t slow down Don’t know why I do the things I do But I’ll always be around. You’ll dream of me love Walking on your roof Climb through the window, live up on the moon Where we walk among the stars And where know what’s here is ours Cause I made it all for you I don’t wanna sleep at all But for you I’ll sleep it off. And darling I, I can’t slow down. Don’t know why I do the things I do But I’ll always be around. And darling I, I can’t slow down. Don’t know why I do the things I do But I’ll always be around. But I’ll always be around. |

| Ace Enders And A Million Different People – When I Hit The Ground Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Some of Ace's best lyrics ever. But I'd say that its basically about no matter what happens that he'll still love his wife and his future baby. No matter if he "hits the ground". He'll still be there and he'll choose them over music any day. |
| Kids in Glass Houses – Saturday Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| It's what he says -- I have an acoustic version and you can really hear him say "bare a little soul" | |
| Novice – I Could Say Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I agree that it could be about a girl that doesn't notice a guy, especially when you add "you're not hopeless i see so much more in you than you see in your self things can get better if you only let me in it's time to surrender" When you add those lines, its pretty obvious. Amazing song, from an amazing band. |
| E For Explosion – Saving Lives Lyrics | 17 years ago |
From my perspective: He's writing from the "nice guy" position. Basically, he opens with "Does he know all the things I say to you? Or am I just wasting my breath on some unspoken truth?" ABout how you talk to the girl you like a lot while she's with her boyfriend, and you like her a lot. Then he goes into: "I don't wanna hear my name, When you're alone, alone, alone again." aka once the guy breaks up with her, she wants to be there. But only when they break up. And then once she finds another guy -- she's gone again. The lines: "I've been trying my best to stop asking myself what all of this is for. 'Cause I ain't in the business of saving lives anymore." are basically about how when you're a nice guy (as i am) you try and figure out why you're always like this even though you constantly get hurt by girls. And "saving lives" is about helping every girl you like deal with getting their hearts broken by assholes. That's my interpretation, especially if you listen to the whole cd. That's what the whole cd is about. Liking someone that's with someone else, or who only wants you as a friend. |
| Radio Racer – its them i dont trust Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Amazing song. I think it's about dating a girl after she broke up with her last boyfriend, and it not working out. And basically the girl doesn't trust you because of what the last guy did. |
| This Day & Age – Second Place Victory Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Yeah, I would say that this is about wanting to go back to someone, but kind of knowing that you can't and shouldn't because it'll never work. | |
| Armor for Sleep – Somebody Else's Arms Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Basically a song about the guy who gets left for the asshole, but still wants her (and she'll never know because he'll never tell her) | |
| Lannen Fall – Lover's Last Rites Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| It's about a guy that just isn't good enough for the girl. He continuously lets her down, and he feels like if he goes to sleep that it won't fix anything. But it's not all bad, I think that he wants to give her everything...but he can't? | |
| Cauterize – Why This Last Dance? Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I think that it is about moving out of an apartment, but it's also about an internal moving out too. You're moving the thoughts of you and her out of your mind, and when he sings "Someone else can hang pictures over the holes in the walls." I believe that he's singing about how someone else can be in his heart later. But the song is def about realizing that you love someone and wanting more after the "last kiss" |
| Dropout Year – As You Wish Lyrics | 18 years ago |
This song is actually about a guy liking a girl that only sees him as a friend. and when it comes to friendship, i have a small confession, a common misconception, so here's your lesson of the day. i caught feelings for you, while you caught my eye and now i find that the truth is just too hard to hide when all i want was in you all along. ^^^^ shows that he likes her more than she likes him. |
| Dropout Year – From Across The Room Lyrics | 18 years ago |
This is pretty obvious, it's about a guy who notices his ex is now dating someone that looks just like him, and he's wondering if he's just like him. I love in the middle, there's a very blink-182-esque bass line |
| Secondhand Serenade – Stranger Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| This song is amazing. It's just about being with someone who's super scared to let you into their life, and you feel like they mean the world to you...but they still feel like you're a stranger. | |
| We Shot The Moon – Faces Lyrics | 18 years ago |
i think it's "I try to make us believe" that's what i hear. |
| Skillet – Yours To Hold Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| Yes, considering Skillet is Christian...it is about finding God when you need him, but you can also relate it to relationships, etc. Which is why Christian Rock is awesome. :) | |
| This Day & Age – Sometimes Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I think there could be 2 meanings: 1) He's scared to tell her that he loves her, and he's scared that she already knows. 2) There's the line about "runs into the wrong arms" and "don't you think she'll find out" i just had a bad vibe off it, and i feel like its about them both cheating on each other. Either way. Such a short simple song. |
| Novice – Cold Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Some of the best lyrics ever: Maybe a day out in the sun Would melt your cold heart But I wouldn't try I'm sure you'd die Drowning in the puddle that remains |
| Roark – Movin’ On Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| Its about a really bad breakup after a long relationship. And of course he doesn't want it to end. | |
| Wavorly – A Summer's Song Lyrics | 18 years ago |
As a guy, this song is amazing. You rarely hear from a guys point of view when he's so in love with a girl. I love this song, and it's how I feel about my gf. |
| There For Tomorrow – Pages Lyrics | 18 years ago |
This song more than any of them reminds me SOOOO much of Acceptance. It's their best on the EP (aptly named after it too). |
| There For Tomorrow – Addiction And Her Name Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| Yeah, I agree. It seems like it's about wanting something to be over, but at the same time not allowing or letting it happen. ("there's always something in your way") | |
| The Reason – This Is Where We Go It Alone Lyrics | 18 years ago |
"So let go, this is where we go it alone" It's about letting go of a girl in your life. Realizing it's not worth it anymore. |
| The Reason – My Broken Legs Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Wow, this is a really good song. Meaning wise. It's just about getting through things, whether or not you know if you're right. |
| The Graduate – Justified Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I'm coming back to see if there was something left I can't forget I've got to have you one more time That's kinda dirty too. Coming back for more!! lol |
| The Graduate – Interlude Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| Really cool beats to this interlude. | |
| The Graduate – Surround Yourself Lyrics | 18 years ago |
It's about "testing love" yes, but more in the essence of the girl doesn't trust him. And not because of him, but because of other people around him. And he's asking her about staying with him, if she sees him in the future. And it finishes with "surround yourself in me" so I believe this is happily ended too :) |
| The Graduate – Better Company Lyrics | 18 years ago |
You kill me, you can hide But you can't escape what's inside I think he says: You can run, you can hide. |
| Patent Pending – Demo for Dayna Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| It's a song about being away from someone, AND being broken up. And the the girl calls you to let you know it's not to late to come back home (and back to her). | |
| So They Say – Wake Me Up Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I love the lines: "I've read this book a thousand times to you. I've heard a million lullabies but this ones true, it's true. A chemical reaction, that I call passion is a prison built for two." |
| So They Say – These Nights Are Long Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Such a good song. You can tell it's about sleeping with a girl, but thinking about your ex. Thanks for the lyrics! |
| Just Surrender – So Close/So Alive Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| Her name is Evy Potter (I asked their tour manager about this). It's one of their friends. | |
| Foreverdown – Like a Dream Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I never realized that the words in this song are so pretty. I feel like it's basically a realization that you and your significant other are breaking up and you don't want to let it go. And everything in your life is better when they are around. |
| Foreverdown – I Miss You, I Love You Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| It's a song about suicide :( But its simply amazing. | |
| Onelinedrawing – Your Letter Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| This is definently my favorite onelinedrawing song. It's just worded the exact way that I felt going through breakups. | |
| You, Me, and Everyone We Know – The Rent Is Due Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| It might not be about breaking up, it might be about moving away. Or you could be right, it could be about breaking up because he had to move away. | |
| Time And Distance – I Miss New York Lyrics | 18 years ago |
And it's gotta be someone till we see you again. I'm pretty sure he says "summer" not someone. |
| Holiday Parade – Driving Away Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I'm pretty sure he doesn't say "Go roll the windows down" i think he says "Girl, roll the windows down" | |
| Holiday Parade – Walking By Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Walking by....it's a song about a guy who keeps seeing this girl come to his shows (quick check, 1,2....singing out my lungs for you). And every time he sees her he can't help but want to be with her. Obviously she wants nothing, or little to nothing to do with him, but keeps on walking by him and it's getting to him. |
| Ronnie Day – Falling For You Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I love that the "interlude" before this is truely the message that she left for him. (If you look on his cd it says "Jamie as herself on "Insert 3") Either way, this is a song about worrying that he's falling back in love with her just because she called him one time. He wonders if she's been thinking about him the entire time. Such a true feeling, i love this song. |
| The Starting Line – Ready Lyrics | 20 years ago |
It was awesome, I saw over the summer and instead of the line "Not for the critics holding their ears," and he sang "F**k those d**n critics, holding their d*cks!!!!" and then right after that song he flipped out on someone for making fun of him near the front. In agreeance with empirestate -- Ken has said that this and Photography were his 2 favorite songs. |
| The Starting Line – Cut! Print It Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| This song is a great way to end the CD. And I believe that it is one of, if not the final song you will ever hear Ken writing about his ex girlfriend(s) -- until the next one comes alone (though who would screw him over after all that he's written to the other girls). The best line in the entire song is the first one: "So I flew across the country just to find your broken word," | |
