Lend your ears, lend your hands,
Lend your movement, anything you can.
Come to teach, come to be taught.
Come in the likeness in the image of God.
Cause, you can be like that.
With all that humbleness, and all that respect.

All of the power invested in me,
be it hard to love my enemies.
All of the black bags over the heads of the dead and dying.

The more I understand about the human race,
the less I comprehend about our purpose and place
and maybe if there was a clearer line
the curiosity would satisfy.

Time based prophecies that kept me from living,
in the moment I am struggling
to trust the divinity of all the guides
and what the hell they have planned for us.

I cry for the creatures who get left behind
but everything will change in a blink of an eye
and if you wish to survive,
you will find the guide inside.

I go back and forth every single day,
the clarity that comes to me in a choppy way,
as the feelings and the places
and the seasons change,
the galaxies remain.

Energy fields cone the body in space.
The angels that are coming from a spiritual waste.
The hate that gets me distant from my spiritual pace.
Ten fold the manna when the planets are in place, in polar alignment.
We’re on assignment.
Bodies on consignment.
Return them to the circus.

And what is the purpose?
What is the purpose and would you believe it?
Would you believe it
if you knew what you were for
and how you became so informed?

Bodies of info performing such miracles.
I am a miracle made up of particles
and in this existence,
I’ll stay persistent,
and I’ll make a difference
and I will have lived it.

Aloha, Aloha Ke Akua, Ke Akua,
Aloha, Aloha, Kuleana, Kuleana.
Aloha, Aloha Ke Akua, Ke Akua,
Aloha, Aloha, Kuleana, Kuleana.

Each day that I wake,
I will praise, I will praise.
Each day that I wake,
I give thanks, I give thanks.
Each day that I wake,
I will praise, I will praise.
Each day that I wake,
I give thanks, I give thanks.

And the day that I don’t wake up
and transcend the holy make-up,
I am capable, I am powerful.
And the day that I don’t wake up
and transcend the holy makeup,
I am on my way to a different place….

I’m not a leader, just a creature,
seeking the features of a teacher.
Whether you follow or whether you lead
All mysterious ways of nature and I’m into it.
Changing management.

And there are various ways to conquer this monotonous metropolis,
my stubbornness is bottomless,
my fearlessness is talking shit
and I’m wide awake and I’m taking names.

I am not a leader, just a creature.
Seeking the features of a teacher.
Whether you follow or whether you lead
All mysterious ways of nature and I’m into it.
I’m into it.
Changing management.

And there are various ways to conquer this monotonous metropolis,
my stubbornness is bottomless,
my fearlessness is talking shit
and I am wide awake.
And I’m taking names.

And there are various ways to conquer this monotonous metropolis,
my stubbornness is bottomless,
my fearlessness is talking shit,
and I’m wide awake and I’m taking names.

Do you speak to me like you speak to God?
All of the love and understanding between the father and the son?
Do you believe in the perfectness of where you are?
These are my people, these are my children,
this is the land that I would fight for.

My solidarity is telling me to patiently
be moving the musical medicine around the planet in a hurry,
Cuz there’s no time to waste.
Got to wake up the people time to stand up and say,
we know what we are for
and how we became so informed.
Bodies of info, performing such miracles.
I am a miracle, made up of particles
and in this existence,
I’ll stay persistent
and I’ll make a difference
and I will have lived it. ……..

Aloha, Aloha Ke Akua, Ke Akua,
Aloha, Aloha, Kuleana, Kuleana.
Aloha, Aloha Ke Akua, Ke Akua,
Aloha, Aloha, Kuleana, Kuleana.

Each day that I wake,
I will praise, I will praise.
Each day that I wake,
I give thanks, I give thanks.
Each day that I wake,
I will praise, I will praise.
Each day that I wake,
I give thanks, I give thanks.

And the day that I don’t wake up
and transcend the holy make-up,
I am capable, Hm that’s right,
I am powerful.
And the day that I don’t wake up and transcend the holy make-up,
I am on my way to a different place!

Aloha, Aloha Ke Akua, Ke Akua,
Aloha, Aloha, Kuleana, Kuleana.
Aloha, Aloha Ke Akua, Ke Akua,
Aloha, Aloha, Kuleana, Kuleana.

In my opinion, this song speaks to me in the sense of faith in humanity and other entity's in which people believe. I think this is a message of love and waking up to protect the world and fight for its beauty and people within it. Aloha ke akua means God is Love and I think that's beautiful but also don't think that it necessarily means the obvious interpretation of God. I think God can be anything and anyone. I believe that in the end we have to treat ourselves and others like God in order to save this world we live in.

Simply put, Everything is worth protecting and loving and we need to wake up and start fighting for the world we live in and start preaching love not religion while still respecting all beliefs of this earth.

    My Interpretation

Here’s my interpretation of the lyrics in brackets after each verse and chorus)

Lend your ears, lend your hands, Lend your movement, anything you can. Come to teach, come to be taught. Come in the likeness in the image of God. Cause, you can be like that. With all that humbleness, and all that respect.

(He’s talking about what you can give to humanity)

All of the power invested in me, be it hard to love my enemies. All of the black bags over the heads of the dead and dying.

(Talking of those who are not on a spiritual path, those who are blinded, and how despite his potential, it's difficult to love those who do him wrong)

The more I understand about the human race, the less I comprehend about our purpose and place and maybe if there was a clearer line the curiosity would satisfy.

(He’s saying that the more he understands about humanity, the less he questions our purpose here, and if things were clearer then he’d understand better, basically saying that it difficult to understand what to do)

Time based prophecies that kept me from living, in the moment I am struggling to trust the divinity of all the guides and what the hell they have planned for us.

(Saying how prophecies make it harder to trust spiritual guides and what they may have planned for us, he was focused on the 2012 prophecy that the world could end while writing this song - stated in Huffington post)

I cry for the creatures who get left behind but everything will change in a blink of an eye and if you wish to survive, you will find the guide inside.

(Saying how those not on the correct path will perish, and those that wish to survive should look inside themselves for guidance)

I go back and forth every single day, the clarity that comes to me in a choppy way, as the feelings and the places and the seasons change, the galaxies remain.

(Describing how life is turbulent and changing while the bigger picture remains)

Energy fields cone the body in space. The angels that are coming from a spiritual waste. The hate that gets me distant from my spiritual pace. Ten fold the manna when the planets are in place, in polar alignment.

(I think these lyrics are wrong, found else where it reads, “Energy fields pullin’ up out of this space, the angels that are composting the spiritual waste”, which I think he’s talking having a spiritual connection and the angels that are using the wasted potential as a new learning experience, i.e. we learn through hard times, in example of this wasted potential ‘the hate that gets me distant from my spiritual pace. The manna, which means ‘spiritual nourishment of divine origin.’ Is ten fold when the planets are in alignment)

We’re on assignment. Bodies on consignment. Return them to the circus.

(Saying that we’re here for a purpose, with a task that has been entrusted to us, ‘Return em to the circus’, for me it’s seeing the world as a circus, and that we’re in cycle of returning here to earth to carry out spiritual work)

And what is the purpose? What is the purpose and would you believe it? Would you believe it if you knew what you were for and how you became so informed?

(What is our purpose here?, would you believe why you are here and how you came to have the knowledge or instincts that you posses.)

Bodies of info performing such miracles. I am a miracle made up of particles and in this existence, I’ll stay persistent, and I’ll make a difference and I will have lived it.

(That you posses divine information, and that you yourself are a miracle and by persistently following a spiritual path you’ll make a difference)

Aloha, Aloha Ke Akua, Ke Akua, Aloha, Aloha, Kuleana, Kuleana. Aloha, Aloha Ke Akua, Ke Akua, Aloha, Aloha, Kuleana, Kuleana.

(“The words ‘aloha ke akua’ mean the breath of life and the love of God” - in the words of the artist)

Each day that I wake, I will praise, I will praise. Each day that I wake, I give thanks, I give thanks. Each day that I wake, I will praise, I will praise. Each day that I wake, I give thanks, I give thanks.

And the day that I don’t wake up and transcend the holy make-up, I am capable, I am powerful. And the day that I don’t wake up and transcend the holy makeup, I am on my way to a different place….

(Saying that when he doesn’t see himself as being beyond or greater than what God has intended him to be then he will be capable, powerful and on his way to a better place)

I’m not a leader, just a creature, seeking the features of a teacher. Whether you follow or whether you lead All mysterious ways of nature and I’m into it. Changing management. (Seeking the features of someone whom teaches the divine, and being keen to see the planet governed by new management)

And there are various ways to conquer this monotonous metropolis, my stubbornness is bottomless, my fearlessness is talking shit and I’m wide awake and I’m taking names.

I am not a leader, just a creature. Seeking the features of a teacher. Whether you follow or whether you lead All mysterious ways of nature and I’m into it. I’m into it. Changing management.

And there are various ways to conquer this monotonous metropolis, my stubbornness is bottomless, my fearlessness is talking shit and I am wide awake. And I’m taking names.

And there are various ways to conquer this monotonous metropolis, my stubbornness is bottomless, my fearlessness is talking shit, and I’m wide awake and I’m taking names.

(Talking about his own personal ways that he deals with this change of management)

Do you speak to me like you speak to God? All of the love and understanding between the father and the son? Do you believe in the perfectness of where you are? These are my people, these are my children, this is the land that I would fight for.

(Questioning whether you speak to your fellow man with the same heart and understanding as you would to God, and how he would fight for his fellow people and the earth)

My solidarity is telling me to patiently be moving the musical medicine around the planet in a hurry, Cuz there’s no time to waste. Got to wake up the people time to stand up and say, we know what we are for and how we became so informed. Bodies of info, performing such miracles. I am a miracle, made up of particles and in this existence, I’ll stay persistent and I’ll make a difference and I will have lived it. ……..

(Talking about is devotion to others and how it pushes and guides him to spread his message around the world through his music to bring about a spiritual awakening)

In summary the song is about spreading a spiritual message to create a shift in consciousness which could bring about a change in the way we live our lives and govern the planet. It come from the outlook that time is running out and that we need to be on the correct path before it's too late.

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it. “I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
