You're not on my list of things to do
'Cause I've already done you
And I'm protective, it's so cute
And only when it suits you
And is this all in vain?
Can these words explain?

Desperate minds mean desperate measures
We've gotta keep this one together
You're young and in love
That should be enough

At least you'll have nice thoughts of me
When I'm cheating on you in your dreams
I told you before, my closet's clean
And that these bones don't belong to me

Try this one for size
Try me one more time
You hold me down by keeping me around

Desperate minds mean desperate measures
We've gotta keep this one together
You're young and in love
That should be enough

Desperate minds mean desperate measures
We've gotta keep this one together
You're young and in love
That should be enough

You hold me down by keeping me around
And no one takes me home
No one takes me home
You hold me down by keeping me around
And no one takes me home
No one takes me home

Desperate minds mean desperate measures
We've gotta keep this one together
You're young and in love
That should be enough

Young and in love (that should be, that should be enough)
Young and in love (that should be, that should be enough)

I think that it's more about a couple who are still really into each other but have broken up, maybe because of rumours about the guy cheating, in any sense it seems that they've had their differences, but the girl is keeping him close to her almost as if saying that 'i don't trust you but i love you', either that or a couple that are still together but the girl is keeping him at a distance so that he can't leave and move on and away from her but she's not letting him off the hook so she's almost punishing him for something that he may not have done.
"You hold me down by keeping me around, and no one takes me home." "We've got to keep this one together, you're young and in love, that should be enough."

I am new to YM@6, and they are incredible. Love their style. This song is so, so good. The girl is in the reltionship, and she is in love, but she wants attention from other guys. She loves how protective of her he is, but when he gets mad because she is talking to all of these other guys, she gets mad at him(and I'm protective, it's so cute, only when it suits you). She thinks that he is cheating on her, when, in fact, he isn't(I told you before my closet's clean, and that these bones don't belong to me). Basically he has to always validate himself because her own guilty conscience is getting to her. She thinks that if she's is all over other guys, that he is all over other girls. He thinks she's making a fool of him because he's all in in this relationship, and people see her out with other people. He's kind of just saying, your relationship with me could be really good, straighten up and get it together.

It's about a girl who thinks her boyfriend is cheating on him, but he tries to assure her that he's nto and keeping him close isn't going to prove that he's not cheating

Fortnight
Taylor Swift
The song 'Fortnight' by Taylor Swift and Post Malone tells a story about strong feelings, complicated relationships, and secret wishes. It talks about love, betrayal, and wanting someone who doesn't feel the same. The word 'fortnight' shows short-lived happiness and guilty pleasures, leading to sadness. It shows how messy relationships can be and the results of hiding emotions. “I was supposed to be sent away / But they forgot to come and get me,” she kickstarts the song in the first verse with lines suggesting an admission to a hospital for people with mental illnesses. She goes in the verse admitting her lover is the reason why she is like this. In the chorus, she sings about their time in love and reflects on how he has now settled with someone else. “I took the miracle move-on drug, the effects were temporary / And I love you, it’s ruining my life,” on the second verse she details her struggles to forget about him and the negative effects of her failure. “Thought of callin’ ya, but you won’t pick up / ‘Nother fortnight lost in America,” Post Malone sings in the outro.

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.

Blue
Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.
