Is it really necessary
Every single day
You're making me more ordinary
In every possible way

This ordinary mind is broken
You did it and you don't even know
You're leaving me with words unspoken
You better get back 'cause I'm ready for

More than this
Whatever it is
Baby, I hate days like this

Caught in a trap
I cannot look back
Baby I hate days like this

When it rain and rain and rain and rains
When it rain and rain and rain and rains
When it rain and rain and rain and rains
When it rain and rain and rain and rains

More than this
Baby I hate days like

Trying to be ordinary
Was it me who was the fool?
Thought you found the man you wanted
'Til you turn him into something new

Well even if our minds are broken
There's something that I need you to know
It's nothing like the life we wanted
You better move on
Cuz I'm ready for

More than this
Whatever it is
Baby, I hate days like this

Caught in a trap
I can't look back
Baby I hate days like this

When it rain and rain and rain and rains
When it rain and rain and rain and rains
When it rain and rain and rain and rains
When it rain and rain and rain and rains

More than this
Baby I hate days like

(Spoken)
I'm not angry
Don't know what to do
After all the years that I spent with you
I can't blame you for the things you say
I was using you just to hide away

More than this
Whatever it is
Baby, I hate days like this

Caught in a trap
I can't look back
Baby I hate days like this

When it rain and rain and rain and rains
When it rain and rain and rain and rains
When it rain and rain and rain and rains
When it rain and rain and rain and rains

When it rain and rain and rain and rains
When it rain and rain and rain and rains
When it rain and rain and rain and rains
When it rain and rain and rain and rains

More than this
Baby I hate days like

I think this is a song about someone ending a relationship they've been in for years, after finally realising that they could never be themselves with the person they were with, because they were always trying to be 'ordinary' in order to please them. The character here has finally realised that he's ready for more that this and so leaves. In the chorus I think it's partly he's walking in the rain and it's kind of raining in his mind because despite him realising he's better out of it, it upsets him (of course). Also, I think 'When it rains It rains More than this' (the chorus) could mean that things could be worse than this?

    Just guessing here :s

    Wonderful song.

Isn't there one "rain" less in the chorus? anyways, I love this song, it euphorizes me.

Though, I'm still trying to figure out what it actually means :)

    Gosh! I love this song!!!

It's like one of those days where things don't go the way you want, but that's just life-you know. At least that's what I think this song it about ::)

It's soo awesome, I love the emotion in this voice. And to 'roses r 4ever' I love to listen to this song on my way to school too, except that I have to take the train instead. lol

I agree with Katie I think this is about the feeling with someone ending a relationship, but I think the two persons decide to break up. I think also the rain means the tears!!!! I think someone It´s too much in love and the other, not yet. When he said..you don´t even know...It´s about the other is not interesting in the love. Love Everything is about love. But the one who is deeply in love, he/she has tried so much and now..he/she recomends the break up ..even He/she hates it and cry so so much. Ah..and the other has replaced so quickly her/his lover

I really love this song. Mika is just brilliant in this.

Am I the only one who gets reminded of the Pet Shop Boys from 'I'm not angry...' to '...to hide away'? It really sounds quite Pet Shop Boys-esque to me. Definatly my favourite part of the song. It just sounds so 80's ;)

I think it's about a dysfunctional relationship, sometimes they love each other, sometimes it just doesn't work, and this is one of the hard days. The girl is trying to change the guy into someone she thinks she wants to be with, and although the guy was apprehensive at first he changed for her, but now he looks back on it and wonders if they would even have fallen in love if he hadn't been that original way anyway. mika is epic. <3

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.
