Grace Kelly Lyrics

Do I attract you?
Do I repulse you with my queasy smile?
Am I too dirty?
Am I too flirty?
Do I like what you like?

I could be wholesome
I could be loathsome
I guess Im a little bit shy
Why dont you like me?
Why dont you like me without making me try?

I try to be like Grace Kelly
But all her looks were too sad
So I try a little Freddie
Ive gone identity mad!

I could be brown
I could be blue
I could be violet sky
I could be hurtful
I could be purple
I could be anything you like
Gotta be green
Gotta be mean
Gotta be everything more
Why dont you like me?
Why dont you like me?
Why dont you walk out the door!

How can I help it
How can I help it
How can I help what you think?
Hello my baby
Hello my baby
Putting my life on the brink
Why dont yo like me
Why dont you like me
Why dont you like yourself?
Should I bend over?
Should I look older just to be put on the shelf?

I try to be like Grace Kelly
But all her looks were too sad
So I try a little Freddie
Ive gone identity mad!

I could be brown
I could be blue
I could be violet sky
I could be hurtful
I could be purple
I could be anything you like
Gotta be green
Gotta be mean
Gotta be everything more
Why dont you like me?
Why dont you like me?
Why dont you walk out the door!

Say what you want to satisfy yourself
But you only want what everybody else says you should want

I could be brown
I could be blue
I could be violet sky
I could be hurtful
I could be purple
I could be anything you like
Gotta be green
Gotta be mean
Gotta be everything more
Why dont you like me?
Why dont you like me?
Why dont you walk out the door!

From what i have heard, Mika wrote this song because he was annoyed that different record labels wanted him to sound to be more like the stereotypical pop style. Ironically, a year later it was after hearing this song that he was signed onto a record label.

Very catchy song :D

I think this is Mika is showing how he is different like grace kelly was different and he wants people to realise he is no streotype.

an awsome song!

I think it's quite obvious that he's tried "a little Freddie" ;)

My fave song by Mika... just the right touch of Queen influence without losing his own style.

I love this song. The style reminds me a lot of Queen. Anyone else think so?

It reminds me of Queen too. My brother was saying it might be a bit of a tribute to Freddie Mercury.

the was also the line 'so I try a little freddie'...maybe that as well was refferance to him. I just like the ca-ching he does at the end. It was pretty much his way of sticking two fingers up at all the record lables who turned him down. I do find it sad that things like that happen, to say that becuase a talent is different to current means its no go is rubbish! if we didn't have new changing talent, then we would be stuck with a massive bum vibe in music for the next 300 years! I think it's like a mixture of Queen and Scissor Sisters - definitely love it though! The Freddie reference definitely ups the Queen link.
