All these years, all this time
We have been messing with your mind
Dishonest, noble, rad and true
We just don't have a fucking clue

All the humor, pun, and wit
A heaping, steaming pile of shit
With a smile and a wink
We make believe our poop don't stink

Rip the system, revolution
Adding fuel to your confusion
Gobble up the crap we feed you
We don't really love and need you

We just want your cold hard cash
Get our hands into your stash
Now show up, listen, and behold
Finally the truth be told

[Chorus]
We're only in it for the money
To dip our fingers in your honey
We pretend to no end
We are bitches for your riches

My tide and my audacity
Of a handsome crook from Germany
A million sheets of patient paper
Chronicle his every caper

You never had us figured out
Lend stature, relevance and clout
Even called us pioneers,
When really we were privateers

You reveled in our plagiarism
Joined into the organism
Your pompousness and indecorum
Spewed on every online forum

How you dribbled, how you drooled
Priceless how we had you fooled
We hijacked your bedazzled souls
For ransom â??til we made it gold

[Chorus]

We're only in it for the gain
Sex and drugs, and rock and roll fame
Jewelry, luxury
We are for your .

We're only in it for the encore
We want it all, and then some more

Is our duty

We just want your cold hard cash
Get our hands into your stash
Now show up, listen, and behold
Finally the truth be told

We're only in it for the
The never burns
Can't get enough to stuff
The orifice of avarice

[Chorus]

We are bitches for your riches

    My Interpretation

I think what they're doing, is actually calling their fans out. Normally in a situation like this speaking in the first person is tongue-in-cheek, but it sounds to me like he's referencing KMFDM's general ideals and how their fans (most of which are pompous douchebags) gobble it up.

Sounds like a song about those bands that are in it for the money only. You know, those bands that have no artistic vision that just want to make hit songs with non serious lyrics that want to get the consumers money.

another installment in kmfdm's self-deprecating, tongue in cheek fun? very similar to their past tracks, "Sucks" and "Intro" to me.

Well it's quite obvious. They're making fun of bands that sell out and only are in it for the fame and fortune. I personally think that if a band can't laugh at themselves and go so far to insult themselves in a song, then said band is doomed.

Any band that has been around long enough will get an accusation of 'sell out!' from some segment of the fanbase that isn't happy with a change. It's stupid to defend against it, so they just say, "Fuck you, we were phonies from the very beginning!"

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Dreamwalker
Silent Planet
I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.
