It's All Your Fault Lyrics

I conjure up the thought of being gone
But I'd probably even do that wrong
I try to think about which way
Would I be able to and would I be afraid

Cause oh I'm bleeding out inside
Oh I don't even mind (Yeah)

It's all your fault
You called me beautiful
You turned me out
And now I can't turn back
I hold my breath
Because you were perfect
But I'm running out of air
And it's not fair

Da da dada da dada da
Da dadadadadada da dadadadadada

I'm trying to figure out what else to say (What else could I say)
To make you turn around and come back this way (Would you just come back this way)
I feel like we could be really awesome together
So make up your mind cause it's now or never (oh)

It's all your fault
You called me beautiful
You turned me out
And now I can't turn back
I hold my breath
Because you were perfect
But I'm running out of air
And it's not fair

I would never pull the trigger
But I've cried wolf a thousand times
I wish you could
Feel as bad as I do
I have lost my mind

It's all your fault
You called me beautiful
You turned me out
And now I can't turn back
I hold (I hold) my breath (My breath)
Because you were perfect
But I'm running out of air (running out of air)
And it's not fair

(Oh yeah
It's all your fault)

I hold my breath
Because you were perfect
But I'm running out of air
And it's not (It's not) fair

To me this is the best song on the album. I think she is telling Carey was the one that made her stronger, that brought out the best in her. I'm not sure if the 'It's all your fault' is meant as a positive thing (because he changed her for the better) or a negative thing (because she's having a hard time staying 'beautiful' without him).

The first few times I listened to the song, I actually thought she sang 'I would never cry a river, but I've cried wolf a thousand times.' which I thought was a cool line. But the actual line works too :)

I think she's comparing "being gone" "pull the trigger" (committing suicide) to breaking up with him--disappearing from the relationship. Because she's saying "I would never pull the trigger" (break up with you) "but I've cried wolf a thousand times" (threatened to). He used to be perfect for her and she loves him, which is why she's waiting for him to change and "look her way again", but she's "running out of air" (getting tired of waiting). It just seems to make the most sense that way.

yup this makes sense too. i think its sort of a double meaning. The hating yourself for losing someone mixed with the threatning of leaving even though that's not really what you want but you'ld do it if the other person is not happy (if it doesn't work this is a reply to saint street)

@saint_street the suicide part old make sense as in her HRC speech she said that at age 13 she was contemplating suicide

Wow this is def the best song in the new album besides So What. The chorus of this song really hit hard with me because that's how i feel with my ex-boyfriend. The point of the song is to ask why would someone say all those things and then turn around say it was never true. That really hurts...

What I get from this song is that she would have threatened to kill herself to get the one she loves back....... Not sure though... That makes her sound like a creep.

can totally relate to this song. its basically saying i can't live without you to someone. they made you happy and now that their gone you feel like you can't do it. Also what beautifully broken has said. There's nothing worst than someone turning around and telling you they don't love you anymore

This song sounds to me like she's basically saying "I'm in love with you and I always will be, but for whatever reason you just don't make feel the same way you used to...but i'm going to hold off on leaving you in the hopes that those old sparks start flying again...but I can't wait forever." She's saying it's "All his fault" because he's not the same person anymore. That doesn't necessarily mean he's become a "bad" person...just that she feels like he's changed.

saint street is right, completely.

I think it's about attempting or thinking about suicide. I conjure up the thought of being gone < thinking about life without her. "I try to think about which way, Would I be able to and would I be afraid" Which way she'd do it and wondering if she'd have the courage to do it.

Then I would never pull the trigger But I've cried wolf a thousand times < She's tried to but knows she could never go through with it.

I think this is just about blaming someone for the pain you feel. You thought that they liked you, but then they turned around and started to ignore you or stop liking you. She knows she should move on, but she doesn't know how to or if she'd even be able to. She likes him too much now and she doesn't know what to do. She blames him because if he had never given her the light of day, even momentarily, she wouldn't have such a hard time getting over him or moving on.

"I conjure up the thought of being gone But I'd probably even do that wrong I try to think about which way Would I be able to and would I be afraid"

She's metaphorically talking about leaving and being without him, and literally about running away and escaping.

"It's all your fault You called me beautiful You turned me out And now I can't turn back I hold my breath Because you were perfect But I'm running out of air And it's not fair"

She's blaming him for making her fall in love with him, but really in a totally negative way either. Then in the next couple lines, she's talking about how much she's changed or something essential is different about herself that she can't just walk away. As for the holding her breath thing, I think it has more to do with a line of thought, "oh he's so beautiful and perfect, I don't want to even breath because I might disturb his perfection" or something like that, I don't think I quite expressed that perfectly. But after her initial intake of breath, she's now running out of air, because she still can't breath because he's still so perfect, and she doesn't think that she's good enough for that perfection that is him, and it's not fair for her to feel so inferior all of the time.

I would never pull the trigger But I've cried wolf a thousand times I wish you could Feel as bad as I do I have lost my mind

She's talking about leaving, and how she never could, but how she's said she would "a thousand times" before, and how he could have some kind of empathy, or feel how she does (miserable and inferior).

I don't think this has anything to do with suicide, or metaphors for suicide. But I do think it's about a girl (I'm just going to say girl because it's Pink singing, but I think this can be applied to either sex) who doesn't know how much longer she could take being with this person, because she thinks they're so perfect, and she honestly doesn't think she can compare to that, and it's that hint of inferiority that makes her miserable. One thing this song could be about, is she's just trying to get their attention. It's not that they don't care, or that they're absent, it's just that they don't notice her all of the time. An example for what I'm trying to say would be, dating someone who's in the limelight all of the time, and while they're out busy doing their thing, you're sitting at home waiting for them to come back, and you feel forgotten while you're at home alone, so you do what you can to get their attention, ie crying wolf and threatening to leave. Plus with dating someone who's famous, while you're not, there's the "Wow, I'm dating (fill in celebrity), I really don't get how they like me type thing"

I think that's pretty much it.... I hope you were able to understand at least some of what I said!

...Oh and one more thing, just to be clear, the celebrity metaphor was just that, a metaphor, I don't think it really applies here, it was more of an example to get the feelings of it across.

I'd edit, but it I can't find a way to. So I'll do this instead.

I just wanna expand on something I said a bit earlier,

"It's all your fault You called me beautiful"

She's blaming him for making her fall in love with him, but really in a totally negative way either. But she's also saying that it's that one thing he said to her that made her fall in love with him, and if it hadn't been for that one moment, and those words he said, she wouldn't have fallen for him.

I think also one...
