(Uh-huh, uh-huh)
Stupid girl
(Woo)
Stupid girls
Stupid girls

Maybe if I act like that
That guy will call me back
Porno paparazzi girls (yeah)
I don't wanna be a stupid girl (uh-huh)

Go to Fred Segal, you'll find them there
Laughing loud so all the little people stare
Looking for a daddy to pay for the champagne
(Droppin' names)

What happened to the dream of a girl president?
She's dancing in the video next to 50 Cent
They travel in packs of two or three
With their itsy-bitsy doggies and their teeny-weeny tees

Where, oh where, have the smart people gone?
Oh where, oh where could they be?
(Yeah, yeah, yeah)

Maybe if I act like that
That guy will call me back
Porno paparazzi girls (yeah)
I don't wanna be a stupid girl (uh-huh)

Maybe if I act like that
Flippin' my blond hair back (yeah)
Push up my bra like that
I don't wanna be a stupid girl

(Break it down now)

The disease is growing, it's epidemic
I'm scared that there ain't a cure
The world believes it, and I'm going crazy
I cannot take any more

I'm so glad that I'll never fit in
That will never be me
Outcasts and girls with ambition
That's what I wanna see (c'mon)

Disasters all around
(Disasters all around)
A world of despair
(A world of despair)
Your only concern
"Will it fuck up my hair?"

Maybe if I act like that
That guy will call me back
Porno paparazzi girls (yeah)
I don't wanna be a stupid girl (uh-huh)

Maybe if I act like that (uh-huh, uh-huh, do ya thing)
Flippin' my blond hair back (do ya thing)
Push up my bra like that
I don't wanna be a stupid girl (yeah, yeah, uh)

(Do ya thing, do ya thing, do ya thing, do ya thing, do ya, huh)
(I like this, like this, like this)

Pretty "will-you-fuck-me" girl
Silly "I'm-so-lucky" girl
"Pull-my-hair-I'll-suck-it" girl
Stupid girl

Pretty "will-you-fuck-me" girl
Silly "I'm-so-lucky" girl
"Pull-my-hair-I'll-suck-it" girl
Stupid girl

(Maybe if I act)
Maybe if I act like that
Flipping my blond hair back
(Maybe if I act)
Push up my bra like that
Stupid girl
(Girl, girl, girl)

Maybe if I act like that
That guy will call me back
Porno paparazzi girls (yeah)
I don't wanna be a stupid girl (uh-huh)

(Stupid girl)

Maybe if I act like that
(Maybe if I act like that)
Flippin' my blond hair back
(Flipping my blond hair back)
Push up my bra like that
(Push up my bra like that)
I don't wanna be a stupid girl
(Stupid girl)

Maybe if I act like that
(Stupid girl)
Flipping my blond hair back
(Stupid girl)
Push up my bra like that
(Stupid girl)
Stupid girl

Stupid girl
(Stupid girl)

Stupid girl
(Stupid girl)

Stupid girl
(Stupid girl)

Nameless123, Pink isn't a hipocrite for this song when did the Lady Marmalade video. She was playing a role. The other three weren't. She's nothing like those other girls in that video, she actually has some self respect.

Anyways. This song is great. A coworker told me to listen to it, and I just got around to it now. The chorus is a bit annoying, but aside from that, I loved it. Outcasts and girls with ambition That's what I wanna see So true. There needs to be more girls in the music industry that aren't little pop tarts, and there needs to be better female role models for the younger generation.

What does this song mean? Self explanatory. Don't conform to this generation's stupidity. Cheers Pink.

I'll start off by saying that I appreciate the message that Pink tries to give in this song: aspire to be something more.

With that said, I am not impressed with this song for several reasons:

    1) The chorus is annoying.

    2) If Pink wanted to send out a positive message, it probably would have been more effective to do it in a way so that she doesn't have to trash other celebrities whom she has never met or known personally. Otherwise, she just comes off as a hater. Or another Avril Lavigne.

    3) This songs lacks originality. To me, it's the same old tired, cliched "don't-conform-to-society" tune. Hasn't this been done before?

I always find this ironic when I watch the video on MuchMusic, Pink singing about "stupid" girls, when in fact she would fall into that category herself, she just dosen't know it yet.

    Hilarious.

I'm sorry kaneda, but I have to SOOOOOO disagree with you on that last comment. I mean, sure, when P!nk first started out, she had to fit in with everyone else at the time, but then she dropped LAface records and started doing her own thing, which took some guts. Now, she has grown up a lot and is just saying things that everyone else is afraid to, and I really respect her for that. She is just so real and easy to relate to. I love P!nk and I'm her biggest fan!

I think this song has such a strong message... The video is definately something special. All things aside i reckon Pink has such a good point. Women have fighted for years for equality with men and for the opportunity to 'be the president' etc.. and when so many girls out there don't make the most of their opportunities and 'prefer' to spend time fiddling with their hair and the less important stuff, Pink is just trying to say how pathetic and indeed 'stupid' they really are.

"IT IS NOT TRUE THAT SHE WUZ TALKIN BOUT MY HOME GIRLS THE OLSEN TWINS SHE SAID IT HERSELF PUBLICALLY THAT SHE HAS NOTHIN' BUT LOVE FOR THEM" When the hell was that? Last I heard she was making fun of them for being anorexic =P This song does have a good message. and the video is funny. I don't really listen to Pink though. I'm more of a metal and visual kei fan. And yeah, not all people who 'typ lik dis' are morons or sluts o_O

wow...no ones said anything about this yet....well I guess I'll be the first. I think the songs funny and the video. She's obviously making fun of Paris, Lindsay, Jessica and other stupid celebreties that we all hate and want to burn cause they try to hard to be sexy and funny. When really they come out looking lame. I don't really like Pink...actually I like Metallica but I saw the video and....BURN! If you see the video, you'll know what I mean. Anyways I just want to finish and say......Pink is talking down to these celebrities for being dumb and sexy but does anyone remember her in the whole Moulin Rouge thing with Christina Aguilera and everyone.....she kinda looks like a hypocrite

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.

Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it. “I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
