Seep will carry us
After mentioned having a lesson
It's the least discerning place
We can die too

We both should last another day
Another failed adventure straight to nowhere
One more you say, What comes is these
It's all the better your feat seems to carry well
Could we die too?
So soon

We toss our failures at the earth
Connect into a cross
Stripped away another rule
Blame it all because
We toss our failures at the earth
Stripped away from under

So shy cross my heart ascend
With images to fall apart to die
What don't we know?
What should we know?
Slipping under is just the beginning of firsts
Could we die too?
So soon

We toss our failures at the earth
Connect into a cross
Stripped away another rule
Blame it all because
We toss our failures at the earth
Stripped away from under

We still forget to mention
Our waste upon the arms
We still forget to mention
The hope that is the cause

We still forget to mention
Our waste upon the arms
We still forget to mention
The hope that is the cause

Well could we die too?
Well could we die?
Well could we die too?
We couldn't die

We toss our failures at the earth
Connect into a cross
Stripped away another rule
Blame it all because
We toss our failures at the earth
Stripped away from under

hes talking about his third eye. "we both..." obviously suggests hes talking to a specific something or someone else.

hes trying to say that are we just giving up our hopes and dreams just because its hard. we fail at it once and so we say i cant do it and hang it up on a cross aad to live a life with no goals, dreams, or hope is useless ... instead we should call for hope and get up after we fall because if we do that we wont "die"... i might be wrong but thats how i see it

those lyrics aren't right. they were probably written before the album came out. the lyrics are in the booklet with the cd but i don't have it with me. this is what i remember:

Sleep will carry us Have to mention heavy on the REM (i know its weird and doesn't sound like it but its something with 'REM'...i would remember that) It's the least discerning place

    We could dive too...

We both shouldN'T last another day Another failed invention straight to nowhere One more you say, what causes these It's all the better your greed seems to carry you well

    Pre-Chorus: We couldn't dive too... Too...too...

Chorus: We tossed our failures at the Earth Connected to a cause Stripped away another fool Blame it all because We tossed our failures at the Earth Stripped away from under

So shy, cross my heart I sinned With images TOO FAR apart to tell What don't we know? What should we know? Slipping under is just the beginning of thirst

    Pre-Chorus

    Chorus

We so forgot to mention A waste upon the hours We so forgot to mention The hook that is the chorus

We so forgot to mention A waste upon the hours We so forgot to mention The hook that is the chorus

We couldn't dive too... We couldn't dive... We couldn't dive too... We couldn't dive...

    Chorus

that's correct. except for the exact verse before it starts, that's correct. and everytime he says "we could/couldn't dive too..." in the booklet it says "too far" but he definitely never sings that so i left it out.

i forgot to give my interpretation. it's definitely about dreaming or sleep. REM can stand for rapid eye movement which can occur during sleep. the opening line combined with the title is very meaningful (if i'm correct): sleep will carry us + midnight to midnight = sleep will carry us from midnight to midnight. i think it might be talking about sleep being a waste of time, e.g."a waste upon the hours". we could dive too far might mean we could get too caught up in our dreams.

but then again, he also says we couldN'T dive too far most of the time. that's why it could also be that sleep is GOOD. in the chorus, he could be saying we let our worries and failures go as we drift away from earthly things, "we toss our failures at the Earth".

that's my interpretation. a negative or positive song about sleep.

    My Interpretation

i think this song is about living in your fantasy to escape reality. midnight to midnight means living in a fantasy will bring us from life to death. screamline's interpretation is good too. but with every song there are a million interpretations remember that.

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
