Got up early, found something's missing
my only name.
No one else sees but I got stuck,
and soon forever came.
Stopped pushing on for just a second, then nothing's changed.
Who am I this time, where's my name?
I guess it crept away.

No one's calling for me at the door.
And unpredictable won't bother anymore.
And silently gets harder to ignore.
Look straight ahead, there's nothing left to see.
What's done is done, this life has got it's hold on me.
Just let it go, what now can never be.

I forgot that I might see,
So many beautful things.
I forgot that I might need,
to find out what life could bring.

Take this happy ending away, it's all the same.
God won't waste this simplicity on possibility.
Get me up, wake me up, dreams are filling
this trace of blame.
Frozen still I thought I could stop,
now who's gonna wait.

No one's calling for me at the door.
and unpredictable won't bother anymore.
and silently gets harder to ignore.
look straight ahead, there's nothing left to see.
what's done is done, this life has got it's hold on me.
just let it go, what now can never be.

Now what do I do?
can I change my mind?
did I think things through?

It was once my life - it was my life at one time.

Tiesto's songs are awesome, and this is no exception. Andain (the girl singing this) has such a pretty voice. Too bad that this is the only song that she's sung so far. Alot of mainstream dance (that people supposedly call "techno") songs on the radio nowadays are just filled with cliche, shallow lyrics and happy-hard-core beats. One good example: Cascada - Everytime We Touch. Why don't they play Tiesto on the radio sometime? =(

Well this isn't a Tiesto song, it's by a group called Andain (Josh Gabriel, Mavie Marcos, and Dave Dresden). He just remixed it. Andain actually has quite a few good songs, and they're working on an album.

Anyway, this song has been a favorite since I heard it July '03. I've read people saying how they think it's about suicide, which I can see. I just think it's about her realizing she has become trapped in her own life and not knowing how it happened or how to break free. She's forgotten how good life can be, and the one she's living isn't the one she wanted. However, since she is stuck, this is how things are no matter how she tries to ignore or question it. It was her life, but because of her choices and where they have brought her, things are out of her control.

Actually, I was wrong. It's Dave Penner, not Dresden, and Tiesto only had the song an a mix album. But I still stand by what I think it means. :O)

She is talking about how something huge happened in her life and changed her life and it was big and unforgettable but then whatever it was it left, but it was so great but it left her discouraged and confused and frustrated, but then somehow ....it's a new day a new frame of mind comes along in which she needed that made her realize that whatever it was was too great and nothing can compare to how i felt but she realizes the beauty of life if you can see, is that when were depressed or dwelling on something, we need to understand that it's only because whats missing is "I forgot that I might see, So many beautful things. I forgot that I might need, to find out what life could bring."~ THis quote coming to life or alive~ Is a big life realization*

I also think that it's about suicide. Except that, she says, "Just let it go, what now can never be" and that makes me think that it's the moment when she's taken pills or something, and as she's fading from existence, she has that moment of regret. And despite how she tries to justify her actions, she still can't deny that her choice to kill herself might have been a mistake. It's like in those stories, where someone finally realizes what they've done to themselves, and can no longer turn back, and is balling their eyes out at the thought. Tres emotional =/

I have to admit it almost sounds like sucide but i never got that really. I think cause i relate to this song on a personal level. Plus this is one of my favorite rolling songs. I think she's gotten caught up in her life that she let certain things pass her by. I think in this song she's revaluating her life and questioning if she made the right choices. BUT I have to same DAMN i love her voice. so angelic. Love to hear more from her. Oh i highly recommend the Unplugged Gabriel and Dresden Mix. SUPURB

This song meant so much more to me when I listened to again during my 29th year. About to turn 30, you realize that you have been looking to a future that has arrived without you even knowing it. You find that you are like a robot going through the motions of life. You wish the zest of youth with which you used to approach life. You begin to doubt yourself and live with the result of your life choices. It was my manifesto song for my last six months of my twenties.

To me this song is about opening up a door into the drug world for yourself and before you know it your trapped and there's no going back. You end up losing yourself, and everyone you ever cared about because this addiction takes over you and you no longer control your life anymore because the addiction does. When she says " What's done is done, this life has got it's hold on me." she is basically saying the drugs now control her life and she can't change the fact that she got herself into this mess because its already happend. and "No one else sees but I got stuck, and soon forever came." to me means that she got addicted and no one understood (because to understand you have to be an addict) and forever could either mean that she kills herself (which i doubt) or that she is now trapped in this same drug addict lifestyle/world forever and thats all she sees her life being capable of now so its forever because shes stuck aka "I got stuck, and soon forever came." "Look straight ahead, there's nothing left to see." means that her whole world she new before becomin an addict has vanished & now her life is going no where so theres nothing left to see.WHen she sings "Just let it go, what now can never be." she's feeling hopeless for her life to ever be the same as it was before drugs. But then when she says "I forgot that I might see,So many beautful things. I forgot that I might need,to find out what life could bring."its like shes havin an epiphany &realizing that her life isnt over &that if she looks close enough theres beauty all around her & she finds

out that she can still do whatever she wants and accomplish anything she wants, basically she realizes that life isnt over. but then she sings "Take this happy ending away, it's all the same. God won't waste this simplicity on possibility. Get me up, wake me up, dreams are filling this trace of blame. Frozen still I thought I could stop, now who's gonna wait." which i think menas she's doubting herself and the epiphany is over and she's back in the same hopeless state of mind she was in before the epiphany. and then she sings " Now what do I do?" which i think means shes asking herself what should she do because shes confused and then she sings "can I change my mind?" which i think means can she change her mind from being addicted or is she stuck forever. and the she sings " did I think things through?" which i think means shes second guessing herself all over again. and then the last line "It was once my life - it was my life at one time." shows her final answer as of then that shes forever an addict and her life is now controlled by her addiction to drugs and she has no control anymore even though she used to control it the addiction took over.

& ultimately i believe this song is about drug addiction & it trapping you into the drug world,&you feel stuck &hopeless with the occasional glimpse of hope but that soon vanishes & you realize your stuck forever in this beautiful evil sick twisted new world aka the drug world.

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

Dreamwalker
Silent Planet
I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/
