When it seems
Like the world around you's breaking
And it feels
Like there's no one else around you
And it's quiet
There's a silence in the darkness
And it sounds
Like the carnival is over

As you walk
In the crowded empty spaces
And you stare
At the emptiness around you
You wanna go
To the city and the bright lights
Get away
From the sinners that surround you

Cause I will be there
And you will be there
We'll find each other in the dark
And you will see
And I'll see you too
Cause we'll be together in the dark

Cause if it's coming for you
Then it's coming for me
Cause I will be there
Cause we need each other in the dark
And if it terrifies you
Then it terrifies me
Cause I will be there
So we've got each other in the dark

As I look into the sky
There's sparks bright as ice
You want me to take you over there
I want you to stay with me
Cuz you're not the only one
The only one

No, no
Don't worry
You're not the only one

Cause if it's coming for you
Then it's coming for me
But I will be there
Cuz we need each other in the dark
And if it's panicking you
Then it's panicking me
But I will be there
So we've got each other in the dark

In the dark
In the dark
We'll need each other in the dark

In the dark
In the dark
We'll hold each other in the dark

Now we're saved together in the dark

Cause we've got each other in the dark

tiesto is one of the most famous an best dj's ever, and these beautiful lyrics have a beautiful voice singing them, but I like davmans comment, darkness normaly represents being alone and sad or other hands rave, but its not always dark at raves x) but what I was saying love is a crazy thing an you can do anything with it just dont throw it away! you need it!

i always got the sense of forbbiden love from there. Two people who have each other in the Dark kind of in a secret way. To me it's a dark love song. I can't believe a lot of fans didn't like this song. I think it's one of his best. GOD i'd love to dance to this song at a party.

As u walk in the crowded empty spaces And u stare at the emptiness around u... Great song... probably second best of Tiesto after Adagio. Its about feeling alone with "her" Its the cold world (empty, dark) against both of us babe The type of thing

I personally like to think of zombies when i listen to this song.

Empty spaces, dark streets, go to the city with the bright lights, Coming for you and coming for me, Panicking you and Panicking me. We'll need eachother....

I know it has nothing to do with zombies, but its fun to play with Left 4 Dead or Dead Rising.

You may think that the song tells about two people who are going to kill themselves together... But I personally do believe that the song tells about two very best friends. The other one has difficult time in her/his life and her/his friend tries to help by saying that she/he would always be there, even if life will be really "dark". I think the song cannot tell about two lovers because of the line "Cuz you're not the only one". That is something you say only to a friend... IMO

"as you walk through the crowded empty spaces, and you stare at the emptiness around you, you wanna go to this city & the bright lights, get away from the sinners that surround you." This verse and the first few sentences of the song (at least to me) relate to the "comedown" effects of being on ecstacy. You feel pretty zombified and un-apart of what ever is going on. Also when it says "And it feels like the carnival is over" Implies that maybe the person is coming down and doesnt feel like raving anymore so to them it feels like the rave is over.

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

Cajun Girl
Little Feat
Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it. “I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
