Where's your brother?
Where's your sister?
Do you remember when they used to let me in?
I just wanted to see you again.

What happened when the door closed?
We're led to believe that it would never lock.
I never set my feet again against our wall and now I'm sick.
I'm sick of hurting you.

I'm ten feet tall, then to nothing.
My hands still bleed from the fall.
There I stand again at your door.
Can I just sleep on the floor?

We can just talk through this long night.
I never set my feet again against our wall and now I'm sick.
I'm sick of hurting you.
Here I stand again knocking at your door while you check your hands.

We may be right.
Here I stand again waiting by your door.
Let me take your hands.
I'll make you right.

I remember knocking on my ex girlfriend's front door and beeing welcomed by her sister.

Now i walk pass that door and think about all the good and bad memories i have from her. We havent seen each other in a long time.

i love how this song explodes towards the end. It builds up such power, such atmosphere. Its like if you gathered courage to knock on that door again after a long long time and face something that you are afraid of. Imagine the explosion inside of your body when that person who you want to see opens the door.

An excellent song from and incredible band.

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/
