Dodge Swinger 1973, Galaxy 500,
All the way stars' green, gotta go.
Dodge Swinger 1973, top down, chassis low,
Panel dim, light drive, Jesus on the dashboard.
T-minus whenever it feels right, Galaxy 500.
Planets align, a king is born.

Whenever it feels right
Whenever it feels right
Whenever it feels right
Whenever it feels right

Dodge Swinger 1973, top down, chassis free,
Buzz Aldrin, Armstrong, or maybe just me.
Don't worry, it's coming.
Don't worry, it's coming.
Jesus on the dashboard.

Whenever it feels right
Whenever it feels right
Whenever it feels right
I turn on the radio.

Hey kid, are you going my way?
Hop in, we'll have ourselves a field day.
We'll find us some spacegrass,
Lay low, watch the universe expand.
Skyway, permanent Saturday.
Oh, by the way, Saturn is my rotary.
Hop in, it'll be eternity
Till we make it to M83.

Once around the Sun, cruising, climbing.
Jupiter cyclops winks at me, yeah, he knows who's driving.
Hit neutral in the tail of a comet.
Let the vortex pull my weight.
Push the seat back a little lower.
Watch light bend in the blower.
Planets align.
A king is born.
Dodge Swinger.
Jesus on the dashboard.

Whenever it feels right
Whenever it feels right
Whenever it feels right
Whenever it feels right

This song is so awesome I started yelling when I first heard it.

I see this song about being a mixture of journeys. I don't any interpretation of it is wrong. M83 is a spiral galaxy and highway in Michigan. Galaxy 500 is a song by Reverend Horton Heat, and in his song he mentions 1973 also. I think it has multiple meanings, referencing the Galaxie 500 (car), music and being on the road, space themes all together to form an image of being alone driving (high), like flying.

I think the "Jesus on the dashboard" part is using the driving theme, but saying its just a reminder of religion.

"Hit neutral in the tail of a comet. Let the vortex pull my weight." Drafting? Hehe.

That's all I have right now.

    My Interpretation

The song is about drag racing a dodge swinger and a Galaxy 500.

'All the way, stars green' refers punching the gas pedal when the light tree hits green. 'Panel dim, light drive , Jesus on the dash board' is referring to the tachometer....and it telling him when he's red lining, and shifting gears 'whenever it feels right' to shift gears. The planets aligning are the start lights sequencing on the light tree cycling thru from red to yellow to green. Once they 'align' its time to go....'don't worry it's coming'....he's anticipating the lights to change. A rotary is his scheduled racing start time date...you get the drift. Most of the lyrics are drag racing references and getting high. Awesome song, badass lyrics.

Funny story...the first time I saw Clutch, in '98, I believe...I had no idea who they were. When they played this song, everyone in our group thought he was saying "jesus on the dance floor"...lol. For a slow as this song is, we were sure moshing insanely to it. Clutch is one of the best...and THE VERY BEST live show, I've ever seen.

On the live version of this song on Pure Rock Fury, when the song ends, they cut into 'Escape from the Prison Planet' which fades out very shortly after.

It's about smoking pot in a 1973 Dodge Swinger, and watching the car transform into a space ship from inside.

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it. “I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
