| Through The Eyes Of The Dead – Two Inches From A Main Artery Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I know this is a matter of taste and all but....no. Nate is a beast. He may only do the deep growls and whatnot...but at least he didn't need distortion like Anthony did. Anthony had nowhere near the power that Nate had. It's just a shame they can't hold onto ANY of their vocalists. Onto their 3rd freakin' one. This is the first song I've heard from them so it will always be awesome...But Nate came along and just raped my expectations for this band. Then he left. :( |

| August Burns Red – Rationalist Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Scratch that comment. Yours doesn't really makes sense. I thought I got what you're trying to say but my dyslexia got the best of me. You might wanna clear up what you meant cause your context is non-existent when you say "they"... | |
| August Burns Red – Rationalist Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Thanks for proving the point of the song....:D | |

| Head Automatica – The Razor Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Yeah, cause Jesus never had anything decent to say. Listen to him...not his dumbass followers. Anyways, love the song. Sounds like a whore who is constantly being degraded (cut by the razor) by the acts she performs...but she tries justifying it. |

| Lamb of God – Set to Fail Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Damn... "so go and weave your tale of woe connecting yourself into your so set to fail " "connecting yourself into" is actually "convincing yourself it's so". And csimpson, you sort of have it. It's more about someone having a negative mindset about anything they do...and they set themselves up to fail at whatever they're doing. Technically, they are their own worst enemy. |

| He Is Legend – The Creature Walks Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I think staplemcjebus has it down simply cause he's aware of the whole theme of I Am Hollywood. Very well thought out. But Cysote, I really like your interpretation as well. What a wonderful thing when someone can write a song so well that people can interpret in two totally different ways. |

| The Lonely Island – Boombox Lyrics | 17 years ago |

3/4 of the rap/hip hop world is comprised of terrible singers. It's a little music destroying tool called Auto Tune. Google it. Anyways, this song is hilarious... |

| Between the Buried and Me – Backwards Marathon Lyrics | 17 years ago |
The song meaning is clear. Music has been Tommy's (and the band's) dream and know that he's finally doing what he loves to do, it blows him away. Now he's wondering how fast they'll end up succumbing to shittiness. I guess one of the things I love about BTBAM is the way none of their lyrics really fit the music they play. But it all fits. I play them all the time at work and one of my co-workers always says, "Kill! Kill! Die! Die!" and says I have shitty taste in music. If he only knew. BTBAM doesn't have to worry about being remembered. They'll be remembered and appreciated by the REAL music lovers as opposed to those zombies who go out and buy those overproduced piece of shit Britney Spears records... |

Which totally ruined the original meaning of the book . I've been playing a lot of Left 4 Dead lately so it sounds like Tyler has it right... |

| Between the Buried and Me – All Bodies Lyrics | 17 years ago |
@ Revenga: See Ray Bradbury's "The Martian Chronicles". Amazing book. I'm kinda just now getting into the BTBAM game (always listened to them with uncertain interest but was entirely swayed their way by Colors. It's some of the most beautiful music I've ever heard. Of course, the term "beautiful" is subjective but when an album almost brings you to tears, I consider it a candidate. Colors is by far one of the greatest albums ever...and those limited by what they hear on the radio need not apply unless they're ready to rethink what music is all about. Sorry, this is about All Bodies. Philosophilize away. |
| He Is Legend – Fancy Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| One of the best covers I've EVER heard. All the original emotion of the original is carried over into this format. It's awesome. Schuylar's voice sings this wonderfully and the music is perfect. | |
| He Is Legend – Suck Out the Poison Lyrics | 17 years ago |
From a Smartpunk interview with HiL (9.20.06): Q: Although this has been asked many times...are you guys a christian band? A: Schuyler: This has been asked every interview. It's alright though. We are not a christian band. A: Steve: I would say that about a third of my drum beats are christian drum beats. A: Schuyler: I think most of the riffs on the record are christian riffs. Steve: I have that one jewish fill that I'm pretty proud of. |

| Protest the Hero – Limb From Limb Lyrics | 17 years ago |
mattlolwtf, you're a dumbass. "Hey, look at me. I'm mattlolwtf and I like to give people shit for uploading correct lyrics. God forbid I'd actually wanna know what the bands says when I listen to their songs. But no, I'd rather respect a version uploaded by someone who has no fucking EARS!" After having seen the correct lyrics for this song, I can see it's one of the better written songs on the album. |
| Protest the Hero – Palms Read Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| adeption, I don't get that at all. It seems to me they're saying why waste your life wondering why you're here and alive and just live said life. We're here. We didn't have a choice in it...but take advantage and make the most of it...before you become a fossil. ;) | |
| Protest the Hero – The Dissentience Lyrics | 17 years ago |
The concert I went to, Rody simply opened this song by saying it's about the "weed smoke" and then simply did a weird laugh and they jumped right into it. "Down the street half a block away, in a familiar place regular people agree with each other in smoke signals. Brought together to burn the thing that brings them together, each in turn interprets the law as aging with its eyesight failing." I can see it now, mostly cause I usually participate in said activity. Hanging at my friends house down the street simply to hang out and get stoned. Once it gets going, we start talking rebellious government shit and relate to the each other that the prohibition of marijuana is ludicrous the eyesight and reach of which the law is failing. There is no point to it. If we wanted to fix this current recession, legalize and tax marijuana. This would be an amazingly wealthy country. "Sitting across the tables spending nights talking about other nights, our eyes unclose like books we've read twice." I see this as sitting around the table with that "familiar feeling of being insanely ripped", reminiscing about fun times in the past and overall bullshitting with each other. "On the shelves lined with spines, the dust collects as scattered ash from an urn unturned, spilling over with somebody regular." Honestly, no clue. Boggles me. I'm not that creative and Arif obviously is. "And other such regulars cry ghost and boast of the friend of a friend who saw a strange sight, or heard a strange sound, who now whispers tall tales of murder most foul." Something reminds others of stories they've heard or rumors that eventually turn into outlandish stories or tales. "The scene hits the moon with a rise from the shelves, alive on the myths of ordinary people past" Everyone leaves and it's a night to be remembered. That's my take on that anyways. Probably wrong. "somebody's little girl dreaming of the things she reads, or the monsters in her bed who hacked her into blood-meat. " Some little girl wants to get out and experience the world, go to college and live. However, it's inevitable she'll end up in some "monster's bed" only to have her brains fucked out...hence, hacked to bloodmeat (which according to the band, is a "term" describing the blood rushing to your penis pre-coitus. Don't really know how that last line fits into the context of the entire song but it's a bad ass way to end it. |

| The Offspring – Not The One Lyrics | 17 years ago |
After the presidency that is known as Bush, this song is extremely relevant. We the People is no longer. It's simply "We the Chairman of *insert corporation here*" Excellent song. What it lacks in musical and vocal polish, it makes up for in lyrical content and intent. |

| Head Automatica – Curious Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I knew this hot ass chick who was my best friend's girlfriend. She was almost unreal. She got on me one night but I couldn't do anything cause my friend was standing right there. After that night, we talked and shit and told her I was almways interested in her. I never shared those feelings cause I figured I never had a chance. Anyways we start hanging out quite a bit and drinking. I know I carried this girl down countless flights of stairs when she was passed out cold drunk...and we used to fuck and talk...but I was nothing more than a play thing to her. Something else to do. The relatioship ended bitterly and I was reminded of all the bullshit I did for her and it pissed me off to no end. I still harbor a small set of feelings for her but we broke all contact so I'm still....curious. ;) When I heard this song, it was if someone shoved a cold steel rod through my heart. |

| August Burns Red – The Eleventh Hour Lyrics | 18 years ago |
It seems to be addressed to athiests who seem very keen on sharing with everyone what they DON'T believe in. A blasphemer who has denied the Christian God and in turn believes his rejection of such an entity removes him from the final wrath of God...as if he is almost exempt. Well, they "got news for you..." ;) |
| August Burns Red – The Blinding Light Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| Well, forever haunted, I doubt that it's about religion considering ABR is a Christian band but take from the song as you wish. I stand by the oppressive government idea. | |
| Cattle Decapitation – To Serve Man Lyrics | 18 years ago |

That was a great episode, wasn't it Mickey? It was kinda corny in it's delivery but it got the point across. |
| Funeral for a Friend – Into Oblivion (Reunion) Lyrics | 18 years ago |
DT, his vocals have gotten better. They were a helluva lot more whiny in Casually Dressed. Only in Hours and this new album has he shown his true colors. If anything, I believed they've evolved from the emo genre. I'd rather them be a pop band than be grouped in with that bullshit emo crowd. |
| Funeral for a Friend – All Hands On Deck Part 2: Open Water Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Generic my ass! When this first came out, I was pissed. I was looking for a heavier, melodic approach like Hours was. I started listening to this more and realized, wow, they still got it. They can do anything and still sound astounding. I can hardly wait to see what else they throw at us in the future. God, I love Matt's voice. |

| Bayside – Masterpiece Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I actually have a (somewhat) interesting story in relation to this song. As emo as this, it reminds me of an old (girl) friend in a small town of about 400. We used to always have fun together. Get drunk, smoke pot, listen to music, have sex on and off (fwb). I knew it was nothing serious but we were always friends and I never thought anything could get in the way. Sooner or later, she starts drinking WAAAY too much...starts seeing a guy seriously. I think...cool....this can work. The guy was cool and we all got along. Well, he gets jealous of me and her's relationship and to make a long story short, domestic abuse reared it's ugly ass head. To make another long story short, she gets mad at me for tearing him a new one and defending her. She was protecting her abuser. Anyways, what this has to do with the song is her huge alcoholic addiction and her stinging need to get totally shitfaced beyond her threshold most every night. I've since moved 400+ miles away. And to make it even more of a parallel, I talk to one of her boyfriends all the time (one of my best friends), and he sees her at various parties acting her complete drunken self...yelling at people and starting shit. Shit hasn't changed. I've since stopped drinking after seeing what person she was and what it did to her. She'll look 40 by 25. She was a beautiful girl though. She was always what I had in my head as a template for THE girl...minus the debilitating addiction and rage infestation. I miss her and think about her everyday. Well, that's my emo moment for the day. Just thought I'd share the fact that I've lived every word of this song. Direct hate mail towards my listed email address. |

^^^ I know what you mean, man. It's kind of a joke. But this song kicks ass. It almost seems like his life is flashing before his eyes before he dies. |

It's about taking the initiative to live life and stop moping around thinking that it sucks. Awesome song. |
| He Is Legend – Electronic Throat Lyrics | 18 years ago |
It's a fairy tale...sorta along the lines of Frankenstein...except the monster he created is his would be bride...and the local village found out and wants her (and possibly him) destroyed. This new album is pretty straight forward. It's a collection of fairy tales. There's no real metaphors...it's all pretty much laid out for you. |
| Dead to Fall – All My Heroes Have Failed Me Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I don't believes is strictly pertains to "heroes". Perhaps a close friend or loved one fucked him over bad. That's just what I see. Awesome song and band though. I caught them in Topeka, KS a couple days and they rocked the fucking shit. It was insane. |
| Dead to Fall – Chum Fiesta Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| Despite missing most of the lyrics, it's still rather obvious that the song is about chum/fish being eaten/attacked by sharks. That become most obvious when I saw the t-shirt for this song. Bloodiest, most brutal looking shirt I've ever seen, btw. | |
| He Is Legend – China White II Lyrics | 19 years ago |

He sees the girl as fertilizer for his growing garden? HAHA! I'm with you, rockbass. This song's imagery is just outta this world. Great song by a great band. |

| As I Lay Dying – The Beginning Lyrics | 20 years ago |

| As I Lay Dying – Distance Is Darkness Lyrics | 20 years ago |
"but where are the last two lines... unless i got a messed up cd, he just sounds like he's screaming "My eggroll"... anybody?" Where's my eggroll? I hear it! HAHA! |
| As I Lay Dying – The Beginning Lyrics | 20 years ago |
"I think this song isn't about a girl. It's about God. becuase he lasts forever, and "From here to eternity" that's how long God lasts, and that's how long we'll be with him." Works either way. They look like wedding vows, almost. This song kicks major ass. The screams, the breakdowns, the riffs. All amazing. Best AILD song yet, IMO. |
| Killswitch Engage – Fixation on the Darkness Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| The last 30 seconds of this song are charged with emotion. It's absolutely amazing. | |
| The Offspring – The Kids Aren't Alright Lyrics | 20 years ago |
Well said, insanityX. That totally retools the song in my eyes. I know I'll be able to understand what the song says at a later date just after looking at my friends lives. If they don't change now, they'll be totally fucked. The video is incredibly emotional too. Just sad... |

| Maylene and the Sons of Disaster – Lady at the Gate Lyrics | 20 years ago |

Yes! Maylene made it's way to SM! 'Bout damn time! Awesome song. The riffs compliment this song totally. And Dallas Taylor as vocalist? It couldn't get any better! |
