what i got about the meaning is hat Flidais is a irish mythology goddess who protects the woods/the creatures in the wood and society. and she is an accomplished hunter/archer bastard children and thieves/ societies bad people try to hide form her because she hunts them fmaybe because she doesnt like them hence "Summon all the thieves and bastards hiding in the woodland" i might be way off but thats what i could think of

err.. OK? What does stoopid mean? I actually made a typo on this one :( . Some of them, Bloodmeat really, people were arguing over a few key lyrics (Nurjan being the correct one) and other tense issues were corrected. Would you rather have people just guessing what the lyrics are? Some people might prefer to read what the lyrics are supposed to read. Take Goddess Bound for example. There is a whole verse that Rody doesn't sing.

I always see this song about a big build up, then anticlimax sort of deal; hyping yourself up for something, but then losing it really fast. Flidias comes and kicks ass and sounds all amazing. She is commanding over nature. But, in an instant, she is conquered by the humans.

Total balance. I wish Rody has sang "prey" to complete the feeling. All of these require each other to exist sort of deal. In order to have a good thing, a bad thing needs to eventually happen.

After having seen the correct lyrics for this song, I can see it's one of the better written songs on the album.

Just wanted to point out that Fildais is indeed protector of the woodland and such in Irish mythology. She does not, however, hunt out the miscreants of society, she actually protects them (in most accounts). Many of society's outcasts would seek out her guardianship. Just thought I would clear that up since some people seem to have gotten the reverse impression.

Flidias is a Irish goddess of the forests. Animals adored her. But basically she would use music to lure people down to a lake in the forest and they would never be seen again. That's ALL I can figure out about this song. Protest the Hero's songs seem to have a lot of mythology in them, which makes for a very epic (as in, actually epic, not like "3P1C W1N!!!1" epic) listening experience, but it also makes it very difficult to decipher the song meanings.

I agree with Punk Aholic but disagree with gorgonseye, while it does seem to relate to Irish mythology the main reason is due to the mention of Flidais in the White Goddess, which is what the whole album is about. I don't mean that his analysis of humans causing her to be overthrown was wrong, though the book itself in fact refers to worships of male gods instead of female gods causing Flidais to be overthrown. Also, for FlidaisKezia1028, the celts allowed women to be warriors and considered them equals to men in many cases. Though Flidais was overthrown by a male god (i.e. Jesus), much of the new religion was identical to the old one, so you could argue that "[their] goddess gave birth to [that] god".
