| M83 – Graveyard Girl Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| i want to punch half of you in the face | |
| This Mortal Coil – My Father Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| sorry, first line it's also "promised me" not "promised us" | |
| This Mortal Coil – My Father Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
lyrics are wrong. here's the correct ones: My father always promised us That we would live in France We'd go boating on the Seine And I would learn to dance We lived in Ohio then He worked in the mines On his dreams like boats We knew we would sail in time my sisters' on the road and ran away To Denver and Cheyenne Marrying their grownup dreams The lilacs and the man I stand behind the youngest still Only danced alone hoping that my father's dreams would someday take me home I live in Paris now My children dance and dream Hearing the ways of a miner's life In words they've never seen I sail my memories of home Like boats across the Seine and watch my father's eyes watching the setting sun set in my fathers eyes' again |

| P.O.D. – Abortion Is Murder Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| some women dont come out of abortion clinics. | |
| Mr. Bungle – Squeeze Me Macaroni Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| i think "circuscore" is a better word, and i'd see fantomas as more of a circuscore band than bungle. but anyway, this song is pure genious. only patton could think of so many food sex metaphors. | |
| Gorillaz – New Genious (Brother) Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| isn't this missing a stanza, or at least a line, someone sings over the line "brother sister too" twice in the song. | |
| Gorillaz – Latin Simone (Que Pasa Contigo) Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| Fortunately I could undertsand most of this song. it's really unique, i like it. reminds me of old flamingo singers. | |
| Gorillaz – El Mañana Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
(((El Mañana is also spanish for "the tommorow".))) Not literally, If they wanted to say "tommorow" they would simply say "mañana", where as "the morning is "el mañana". the morning is really talking about tommorow anyway, so i think this song is about what might happen tommorow, or in other tommorows. i dont know. its hard to grasp a lot in gorillaz songs. |
|
| Gorillaz – All Alone Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| I hate that stupid "all alone" chipmunk voice. If it wasn't for that this song would be perfect. Especially the part where the girl sings. This song is most likely about drugs, but then again the Gorillaz never try too hard to make perfect sense. | |
| The Verve – Slide Away Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
my favorite verve song. i think it's about forgetting your problems and hoping everything will be okay, just being with the one you love and hope they love you back. |
|
| Sixpence None the Richer – We Have Forgotten Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| pardon, i mean in their self titled album and before that. | |
| Sixpence None the Richer – We Have Forgotten Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| i believe you and i remember the old site but never came across that. sad, slocum seems like a very deep person. i love this album and while i treasure their new works i believe there is something very special they had after their self-titled album that kind of dissapeared. | |
| Sixpence None the Richer – Don't Dream It's Over Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| If you know Sixpence None the Richer it's pretty easy to tell they're very voiced in their political beliefs. This song carries the same meaning as the original Crowded House song. And this cover blows it away, by the way. Leigh Nash has the most beautiful voice of all time. | |
| Faith No More – Epic Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| patton is my hero. it's probably not about anything as others have said. patton follows this nature in mr bungle and fantomas. he's simply a god at what he does, and that's make music and noises. | |
| System of a Down – B.Y.O.B. Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
yes they have a right to complain. i think their political message in this song is way exxagerated, but they have a very good point. "lies from the tablecloth" is still my favorite line. it's something you can either see or not in the media and white house. |
|
| Nine Inch Nails – The Hand That Feeds Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
this song kind of reminds me of U2 with the rise from the grave and completely shit music and lyrics. i've loved every new piece of NIN material that has come out except for this song. it makes me sick just listening to it. and yeah, he got his point across but it's just so dull. i hope i never hear this song again. |
|
| Mono – Life In Mono Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| Yeah i was looking for that Japanese band when I came across these guys. I never found any music by the band I wanted but this is good enough. What a beautiful voice she has. | |
| Kj-52 – Dear Slim Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| I used to like this song. Kinda tired of it and some of the sounds in the loop drive me insane. I heard Eminem actually heard this backstage at some awards show. | |
| MC Chris – I Want Candy Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
Yeah that's the true version straight off the DVD. :) The last line about the gentlemens club is a joke referring to something Carl says after hearing the song. "Hey 612 Wharf Avenue, I know where that is! That's right next to Melon Shakers! --er, I mean ... the Gentleman's club." Haha. Well if you want this song and others by MC Chris off Aquateens you can get the unofficial aqua teens soundtrack off myspleen.com using bittorrent. |
|
| Gorillaz – Feel Good Inc. Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
wow this song SUCKS and they have really lost their originality. this is a lot different from 19-2000 & clint eastwood. but the music video blows me away. i don't think the song stands alone very well at all. |
|
| Sigur Rós – Viðrar Vel Til Loftárása Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| beautiful, beautiful song. when it kicks in it really grabs you. | |
| Sigur Rós – Starálfur Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| i like when the kick comes in in the middle of the song. not the best sigur ros song but definetely a good one. | |
| Mr. Bungle – My Ass Is On Fire Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| DON'T yoU FUCKING look AT ME | |
| Melt Banana – Spathic! Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| if she does that's pretty insane. | |
| Mr. Bungle – Retrovertigo Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| my favorite bungle song. i agree with shadow & one. | |
| Yeah Yeah Yeahs – Date with the Night Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| this is my favorite yeah yeah yeahs song obviously it's just about sex dont really care what the lyrics are. | |
| Lifer – Breathless Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
dumb lyrics but its a powerful song anyway. the chords and stuff are great. funny story i had a 40 second loop of this song for years and couldnt figure out who it was. it was mistitled as "Johnny" or "Virgin" by System of A Down and I KNEW it wasn't them .. finally one day i figured out the chorus and searched those lyrics. then i finally found the full song. :) |
|
| Filter – Cancer Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| yeah because humans have made LA all smog and polluted like that. | |
| Filter – The Missing Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| wow, that's really interesting. i'm still confused about "what now? the cross has been greased" part. | |
| System of a Down – B.Y.O.B. Lyrics | 20 years ago |

crap .. post got messed up. try again... I think bombomb is mostly correct, but I'd like to put in my thoughts about the song as well. BYOB stands for Bring Your Own Bomb (that is what bombomb said, i think it's true as well) My god is of bible blood with morbid eels Victorious Victorious steel can your spending kneel? Fighting for God & country (GWB says God Bless America a lot, prays, devout christian etc), victorious steel - our tanks and ships and planes and electronics being most of our war. Can you spending kneel .. pretty obvious. marching forward hypocritic and hypnotic computers you depend on our protection marching forward being hypocritical, maybe because gov't has a backwards view on the war, and geopolitically definetely not making any good marks. Hypnotic computers, new technologies like smart bombs, etc you depend on our protection, we do depend on it a lot in this war. Goes back to the whole BYOB thing. yet you feed us lies from the tablecloth an interesting line. Makes it sound like Bush is playing God. everybody is going to the party have a real good time dancing in the desert blowing up the sunshine I think the party is Iraq and propaganda from the gov't makes it almost sound like a party. Sarcasm obvioulsy from SOAD here, but they really need people to enlist because of the shortage of troops. Dancing in the desert, blowing up sunshine, being careless, wreckless in Iraq. kneeling roses disappearing into Moses' dry mouth Dont' know what kneeling roses is but Moses and his people were condemned to roam the DESERTS for 40 years before being able to enter the promised land because they have sinned. Maybe us going into IRaq is condeming them to 40-ish years of wandering before getting what they deserve. breaking into Fort Knox stealing our intentions getting what GWB wants - war. while we didnt necessarily agree. every city gripped in oil crying freedom! handed to obsoletion obvious. we hear about the oil thing all the time. countries just being used for oil - pretty much obsolete. why not have it just be a giant oil field instead of a country. blast off, it's party time and we all live in a fascist nation blast off, it's party time and where the fuck are you? almost like bliss. it's party time, time for war. our nation is war-mongering. where the fuck are you, why arne't you out here in Iraq, partying, fighting? Why don't presidents fight the war? Why do they always send the poor? I don't know why don't they? :P |

| System of a Down – B.Y.O.B. Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| very, very clever song though i don't fully agree w/ them i like this better than cigaro. | |
| System of a Down – Chop Suey! Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| Are you guys even talking about the song anymore? I mean this isn't even a "real" forum .. why even bother arguing? | |
| Pink Floyd – In the Flesh? Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
I saw this and all of disc 1 at a pink floyd 'the wall' laser show in seattle. it made it 100x better than it already is, and that's hard to imagine! i have a feeling this song is about war. |
|
| Modest Mouse – The World at Large Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| I love when bands don't feel the need to put in a chorus or a musically overwhelming part in a song. It's so chill that the lyrics only remind me of being so small in the world and not even caring. | |
| Modest Mouse – Convenient Parking Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
I grew up in the town that Modset Mouse came from (Sammamish, or some would say Issaquah) and it's gone from nothing to a sprawling soccer-mom infested city with overcrowded high schools and scores of outlet malls. They wrote this song right about the time when it was growing into what it is now. So I agree with the idea that this song is anti-urban sprawl and frustration w/ traffic and everything annoying that comes along w/ it. |
|
| Taking Back Sunday – You're So Last Summer Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| it's what happens when you have emotions, you write crap like this. okay done. | |
| Billy Talent – This Is How It Goes Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| The singing isn't that great but instrumentally it's definetely worth listening to. | |
| Starflyer 59 – We're The Ordinary Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| i didn't know they were christian. i like your input on it, it's very true. the ending is incredible i think that's what makes the song, when the guitars really get going for the last two lines .. oh man. | |
| Melt Banana – Spathic! Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| yeah .. i love this song. in that slow part what the heck is he saying though? | |
| Taking Back Sunday – You're So Last Summer Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
Well, this is definitely the worst song ever. If I hear one more person quote that "if you slit my throat" shit i'll fucking kill them and their whole family. |
|
| Muse – Apocalypse Please Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| The music is genius on this track .. i've never heard anything like it. Probably my favorite Muse song, i'd have to agree with dragonchaser on this song. | |
| Cold – Just Got Wicked Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| The song acoustic is good and i first heard this on Jet Grind Radio, dunno if anyone else did. =) | |
| The Music – Welcome to the North Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
I have NO CLUE what this song is about, but I love love love it. .. well .. I wanna say it's about the matrix .. but .. that sounds dumb. |
|
| The Music – Breakin' Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| I think this song is about paranoia and too many people in this world worrying about this and that, but its lively and upbeat tone would suggest to just forget all that. I cant' wait to see these guys live. =) | |
| Squirrel Nut Zippers – Hell Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| Maybe he means to that idea in general, that pancakes are the devil's food. | |
| Squirrel Nut Zippers – Trou Macacq Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| such a strange yet fun song. love snz ^_^ | |
| Squirrel Nut Zippers – Trou Macacq Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| such a strange yet fun song. love snz ^_^ | |
| Squirrel Nut Zippers – Soon Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| It's about realizing something that was there all the time you couldn't see. Things we pass by everyday but can't see because of all the strange clutter in the world. | |
| Starflyer 59 – I Like Your Photographs Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| i really love this song, i'm not sure what it's about but i think it has to do with trying to leave something behind. | |
