Apocalypse Please Lyrics
Declare this an emergency
Come on and spread a sense of urgency
And pull us through
And pull us through
And this is the end
This is the end
Of the world
And it's time we saw a miracle
Come on, it's time for something biblical
To pull us through
And pull us through
And this is the end
This is the end
Of the world
Proclaim eternal victory
Come on and change the cause of history
And pull us through
And pull us through
And this is the end
This is the end
Of the world
قیامت لطفا!
{این آهنگ تم اصلی آلبوم رو داره.قیامت که با ضربات سنگین پیانو نواخته شده و حس قیامت و قبول آن را بوجود می آورد}
Come on and spread a sense of urgency
And pull us through
And pull us through
This is the end
Of the world
Come on, it's time for something biblical
To pull us through
And pull us through
This is the end
Of the world
Come on and change the cause of history
And pull us through
And pull us through
This is the end

i never really thought about muse being sexy, but i think their music is brilliant.
i like this song and it fits so well in the second track (absolution is really good listening)
i think its about change, the end of the world... or maybe the beggining of something new.
i really like: "proclaim eternal victory come on and change the course of history"
MMM, Muse.
I believe this song is about the world leaders at the moment and the decisions they are making. For example, the line "Proclaim eternal victory" would be in relation to the leaders thoughts that winning a war is a victory! Winning a war is NOT a victory, it is just an ending of something tragic! If these world leaders keep seeing winning wars as "victories" then we are all screwed! Muse sarcastically asks for "Apocalypse Please?" This asks the question of whether the world leaders actually wish for the world to end, because the way they keep going about things it looks like the end is not far off!
Also, it's about the fact that religion is an excuse to do things that are in total contradiction with what it teaches. There have been so many wars and arguments over religion while it's meant to be about peace and working together. While I agree that often religion helps bring out some of the best in people, like in all human nature, there is an evil in it that we have created ourselves.
Theologists, philosophers would have a field day here... The album can just be studied from so many different aspects.
i think it might kind of be like a "bring it on" to god or religious people or whatever. "its time we saw a miracle. come on, its time for something biblical."- i think they are saying if there is gonna be an apocalypse, then lets fucking have it...
No not 'bring it on', more of a 'please save the world from the stupid mistakes officials have made'. This song is similar to 'Butterflies and Hurricanes'- also a Muse song- in meaning. Save the world from the trouble and evil before it gets any worse than it already is. I mean really, the world is not like what it used to be. Me, being a religious person, well I feel the world will end from evil and sin and all that 'good' stuff. The world puts labels on everything, 'that's cool', 'wow, that's dumb'. Do the right thing and...

I'm with you bro. Muse isn't religious at all. In fact they believe in the conspiracy theories. They're asking for proof of a so called "god" and saying "HEY IF YOU'RE REALLY THERE PROVE IT. MAKE EVERYTHING OK DAMNIT!"

Ahhhh! I Love this song! Its too bad only 2 people have posted on it. Muse are so sexy. BEst band in the world in my opinions. I also love Matt Bellamy. Theyre so awesome!
simple concept, great outcome this song is defining and expected of the band
YOU SIMPLE MINDED PEOPLE! just because the name sudgests its the end of the world doesnt mean its about the end of the world. Havent any of u noticed that all the songs sound like they are adressed to someone, or giving us instructions?! They are giving the message out that we can "change the course of history" and that our " last chance has arrived" and so on and so on...
The whole Absolution album is about looking inside ourselves and finding our weaknesses and sins; asking for forgiveness from God (if he exists) and/or each other for them, and then realising that if we all really work together, we can change things for the better before it's all too late and we destroy ourselves. I agree with chaos8879 here. We're being told to make a difference, and change things for the better. But it's also about the kind of war thing as well, the fact that we are likely to destroy ourselves.
Matt Bellamy said "''There's been this religious fear in the air the last few years,'' he says, ''a belief that religion could cause wars. … I'm not a religious person myself. But I wanted to put the mood into words, and I used the words of a religious fanatic.''
I suppose the album is also about realisation that there is no God, and that the only way things are going to improve is that we do it on our own, and we have faith in ourselves, not blindly in some being that may never come to save us.
Fury was meant to be on the album, the chorus says "And we'll pray that there's no God to punish us and make a fuss". If there is a God, we'll just be destroyed for what we have done to the Earth. So we have to save ourselves.
Switzerland has won the reward for being the best country or something like that. Switzerland is a very peaceful place. Switzerland is 70% atheist so people's beliefs don't clash all the time. Hmmmm, no wonder why its so peaceful. Its interesting to see how many people die because other people disrespect/don't give a crap/dislike their beliefs. ~genocide~

that certainly was a naive comment that was just made
I personally think that "the end of the world" is referring not to the world around us, but the world as Mat sees it. He is asking for someone to help him to understand his life, because he is about to die and has so many unanswered questions.
