Some of the ghostly imagery in the video, phones covered in dust, her body swaying there like she hung herself... all goes a long way to further this impression.
When I first heard this song I was in high school, we had just studied some Keats poem or something, about a guy who killed his wife to keep her near him, or something morbid along those lines. Would definitely fit the Queensryche vibe.
