Where the slime live
(They are the lowest forms of life)
Where the slime breed
(They make a new one too corrupted)
When the wind blows
(The winds of truth are blowing now)
And the cradle falls....down

Their poison fingers that wrote the poison lies
Their poison lingers
What a tragedy when their fingers are removed

Where the slime live

Their burning dogma
Introducing to our minds - lies
They plot for the total control of the morals
And what a tragedy when the "god-heads" are removed

They crawl, they breed, they hide but we see
They burn
I see the smoke of the funerals rising
God lives in their hearts now laid to rest

What a sight
As their kingdom comes tumbling down
We burn - the ones with contrite souls be gone!

Long gone are the filthy liars
Long gone are their filthy lies
I know they'll come again some day
Where the slime live and how the slime gets washed away

Well firstly, it's "Where the Slime Live." Not "lives." But on to the actual song...

This is obviously (yet another) anti-Faith-themed song. "The slime" are the Christians and all other believers in the Faith, and so from there it's easy to figure out what it's about. "Their poison fingers that wrote the poison lies" - how they wrote the Bible, etc. This whole song is about the eventualy takeover and destruction of the slime, although "they'll come again someday." I especially like how Dave Vincent taunts them when he says, verbally, "And what a tragedy-HAH!-when the 'god-heads' are removed." The effects on Vincent's voice on this song are also especially effective; he sounds like he's underwater, and he IS singing about "the slime." Yet another dark, gruesome, wonderful song from this very brave and well-intentioned band.

"Don't really understand why morbid angel hates christians so much, they are continuing a 2000 year old tradition"

Because something is a tradition makes it ok? Seriously, engage rational thought, please!

What a tragedy when the "god-heads" are removed...

My interpretation of this song is humanity. Humans are slime.

    ...I like my interpretation better.

I don't think this is anti-Christan. It might be anti-theist but it's not locked on Christianity. The way i see it' this song is about humans degenerating and becoming "nothing".It might even be against authorities- " Their burning dogma Introducing to our minds - lies They plot for the total control of the morals".

Well, maybe not Christians, not necessarily. Probably Catholicism, which is much more corrupt and deserves more resentment. Awesome title, I think; instead of "Where the Slime LiveS", it's plural. I think it's an excellent use of pluralization and metaphors. And besides everything else, PlanetarumVagatio, they're a metal band. Ever think maybe they're just writing "evil" lyrics to help fit their image, and not "continuing a 2000 year old tradition?"

    My Interpretation

We all know that David Vincent was known for his "politically incorrect" views some 15 years ago and earlier. So this song could be about the Jews as well. Just think...

Where the slime live (They are the lowest forms of life) Where the slime breed (They make a new one too corrupted)

...Jews are corrupted, materialistic, only interested in money - therefore the lowest forms of life.

When the wind blows (The winds of truth are blowing now) And the cradle falls....down

...the truth is constantly twisted by the Jews.

Their poison fingers that wrote the poison lies Their poison lingers What a tragedy when their fingers are removed

...the Jews are lying and manipulating the world, mainstream media, TV etc... they can do everything, they are untouchable - but what a "tragedy" when someone points at them or at their lies. Example: Only a Jew can be the citizen of Israel. - Can you imagine what would happen if USA accepted only people chosen by some criterion? Israel is the most racist state in the world - but you can't point at it.

Their burning dogma Introducing to our minds - lies They plot for the total control of the morals And what a tragedy when the "god-heads" are removed

Again - the only target of the Jews is the total control of people, control of the world - and they achieve it by introducing lies into people's heads. "They plot for the total control of the morals".

They crawl, they breed, they hide but we see They burn I see the smoke of the funerals rising God lives in their hearts now laid to rest

... they desperately try to act latently but 'enlightened' people see them, see their lies - and the best solution for all people on the Earth is to get rid of them.

What a sight As their kingdom comes tumbling down We burn - the ones with contrite souls be gone!

Long gone are the filthy liars Long gone are their filthy lies I know they'll come again some day Where the slime live and how the slime gets washed away

...it will be a beautiful sight when the kingdom of Jews (not only Israel but every Jewish community in the world) will be burned to the ground. But beware - the Jew is eternal and you never know if he will appear again some day - but enlightened people know how to deal with them.

So this is purely my interpretation and I think it's quite more accurate than 'just another anti-Christian song'. Many lines point directly to the Jews and when you consider Vincent's political stance...

    My Interpretation

It's not anti-christian.This song is about Zionist lobby/Jews in general and their lackeys.

It addresses their political control and how they corrupt our morals (for example with pornography)

"They plot for the total control of the morals"

"filthy liars" -The things they pass through media

This is 100% about Christians. The bible verses are specific to Christianity (namely the "Godhead" and "Contrite" people). This is an anti-Christian song, plain as day.

    My Opinion

clegg : Unfortunately, I'm sad to read your views regarding Morbid Angel. I'll address "Mr. Vincent" for that matter, and even though I really love Morbid Angel, I just can't let crap like that go away :

Being anti-Semitic, or anti anything for that matter, shows ignorance, mental laziness, and frustration with your life, most of all.

These are my views on your poison : ..Jews are corrupted, materialistic, only interested in money - therefore the lowest forms of life. - Actually, if you ever bothered to read about it, Jews, including Marx, were the pillars of the Socialist movement. Capitalism was an offspring of Protestantism.

Since Jews were not allowed to hold most occupations in Europe since The Dark Age, they had to do what they were allowed to - small trade and loaning intermediates (between the land owner and the peasants). Because of that, they were very poor. It slowly changed during the centuries. Actually, the christian catholic church had money as an end, and its followers the means. Either your fathers were "corrupted, materialistic" shepherds , or were they sheep ?

Of course, all Christians are some kinds of Jews. Jesus and most of his followers were Jews when they died.

"..the truth is constantly twisted by the Jews." - You never lied, right ? What about your father ? Your mother ? Your priest ?

"...the Jews are lying and manipulating the world, mainstream media, TV etc... they can do everything, they are untouchable - but what a "tragedy" when someone points at them or at their lies. Example: Only a Jew can be the citizen of Israel. - Can you imagine what would happen if USA accepted only people chosen by some criterion? Israel is the most racist state in the world - but you can't point at it." -

So much idiot-ism in 4 lines. If Fox news, Al- Jazeera, BBC, Sky news, CNN are controlled by the Jews? Bulls. They can do everything ? have you ever heard that Bernie Maidoff (hated by Jews more than other any ethnic group for what he did) is in jail ? How about Pollard, doing more than 20 years in jail, while spooks from Russia and other nations are long back in their countries ?

Only a Jew can be a citizen of Israel ? 18% of the Israeli population are Arab Muslims. 2-3% Christians. Have you ever tried to immigrate to Monaco ? Or Lichtenstein ? There's no way a stranger can immigrate to these countries. True, if you are Jewish you can immigrate easily to Israel, that was founded as the country for the Jews after WW2. But if you marry an Israeli, be it a Jew, a Muslim or a Christian - you can become a citizen too. I live in Beer-Sheva, a small city in the southern part of Israel, and I know 4 Christian Romanian that had married Israeli spouses and became citizens. Is Israel racist ? no more than any other country. Tell me, have you got Black, Asian or Jewish friends ? Democrats ? Who's the racist? And not only that, It's easy to see that the whole world points the finger at Israel. Do you know that the UN security council and Human rights organization attacks and addresses Israel more than it had addressed the mass murder in Darfur ? Than it had addressed Iran, where they hang gays and kill Kurds ? Why did the UN ignore the Armanian holocaust (because Turkey is a big economy)? Because, as history shows - lets pick on the Jews. They are the easiest prey. If we take them, than we'll take the blacks, than the Muslims...

"Again - the only target of the Jews is the total control of people, control of the world - and they achieve it by introducing lies into people's heads. "They plot for the total control of the morals"." - Read my previous paragraph - It's full of facts, contrary to the crap you imagine. Oh, have you ever been to Israel? You'll see no one in the street, because everyone is plotting and transferring money all the time. It's true, I'm a Jew, I have few million dollars of your people's money, and instead of counting it, and controlling a few more Christians, I respond to idiot Nazis around the internet.

".. they desperately try to act latently but 'enlightened' (that another word for stupid ? racist ?) people see them, see their lies - and the best solution for all people on the Earth is to get rid of them." Have people of you ilk tried - and failed ? And funnier, I guess your American/Russian/British/French grandfather helped to fight the Nazis, and now his idiot grandson supports them.

Regarding your last part, and to sum it all -

"First they came for the communists, and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a communist.

Then they came for the trade unionists, and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a trade unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a Jew.

Then they came for me and there was no one left to speak out for me."

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Silent Planet
I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

“Head > Heels” is a track that aims to capture what it feels like to experience romance that exceeds expectations. Ed Sheeran dedicates his album outro to a lover who has blessed him with a unique experience that he seeks to describe through the song’s nuanced lyrics.
