I think this song is about someone who has resisted conforming to society for a long time, but they are finally on the verge of giving in, and they are bruised and battered mentally.

yeah, old afi was way hardcore cool...but the new stuff is actually not bad...I mean the lyrics and all. I'm just glad that there is still some of hardcore oldie ways(so to speak) in their newest cd =)

"my mind it speeds. my mind is not my own" that is in there and so is "i've fucking battled you!" you shouldn't leave that out. this song is the conclusion of the art of drowning. if you understood the songs you now see life diffrently. Davey had to battle you to get you to see this way. that is what this song is, declaring what he's done. he had an easy time with me as i was already half way there before i found AFI. thanx Davey.
