Remember when we used to look how sun set far away,
And how you said "this is never over",
I believed your every word and I quess you did too,
But now you're saying "hey, let's think this over".

You take my hand and pull me next to you, so close to you,
I have a feeling you don't have the words,
I found one for you, kiss your cheak, say bye, and walk away
Don't look back cause I am crying.

I remember little things, you hardly ever do,
Tell me why, I don't know why it's over,
I remember shooting stars, the walk we took that night,
I hope your wish came true, mine betrayed me.

You let my hand go and you fake a smile for me,
I have a feeling you don't know what to do,
I look deep in your eyes, hesitate a while,
Why are you crying.

Tallulah,
It's easier to live alone than fear the time it's over,
Whoa, Tallulah,
Find the words and talk to me, oh,
Tallulah,
This could be heaven.

I see you walking hand in hand with long-haired drummer of the band,
In love with her or so it seems, he's dancing with my beauty queen,
Don't even dare to say you hi, still swallowing the goodbye,
But I know the feelings still alive, still alive.

I lost my patience once, so do you punish me now,
I'll always love you, no matter what you do,
I'll win you back for me if you give me a chance,
But there is one thing you must understand.

Tallulah,
It's easier to live alone than fear the time it's over,
Whoa, Tallulah,
Find the words and talk to me, oh,
Tallulah,
This could be

Tallulah,
It's easier to live alone than fear the time it's over, over,
Tallulah,
Find the words and talk to me, oh,
Tallulah,
This could be

Sorry.. But I have to say that I disagree with mopi, although he has the basic idea down.

I believe this song is about "One way love", so to speak. He's in love with Tallulah, and the feelings that she had for him have basically faded away, or weren't there to begin with. She could have been confused, or simply leading him on.

They both thought that they would be together forever, until Tallulah begins to show that she doesn't feel the same way that he does. He notices that she's hesitant to leave him, so he does it for her with a kiss on the cheek, then leaves with only "Bye".

The song shows that he obviously isn't pleased with what happened by "I hope your wish came true, mine betrayed me."

The chorus shows that he thinks that things would be perfect if she would just give him the chance and try to make things work. "This could be heaven"

Then later on, he sees her walking with the drummer of a band, who thinks that he's in love with her, but the feelings aren't true, just as she had felt for the main character before. He also realizes that he still has the same feelings for her as he did before.

I absolutely love this song, and it's really touching, even more so if you've experienced this before.

This song unbelievably magnificant just like every other Sonata Arctica song. Tony K. is an awsome singer and writes the best lyrics of the struggle of seeking true love. Sonata Arctica is the best band ever.

This guy is going out with Tallulah and he sees she doesn't know how to tell him that she think they should maybe break up, so he spare her the hard part by going away from her, even though he still love her. Now he sees her some times later and she made up a life with someone else. He still love, and he know she still love him so he decide it is best if he doesn't talk to her anymore. The past is just to hard to live in the present.

A great song about a broken heart.

O, geez, Sonata Arctica IS the best band ever, and Tony K is just incredible. Did you know that English is Sonata Arctica's second language? That's just incredible. And so is this song.

I think Misery05 hit the nail on the head there, at least in tune with what I think this song means. The line "Don´t even dare to say you hi, still swallowing the goodbye" clearly shows that he still hasn't got over it yet (I know that feeling well) though it seems she's dealt with it and moved on already.

In passing, I found there's a short story called Tallulah, which I saw described as a sotry about "love and loss" which seems ot be rather appropriate here. I've not read it myself so I don't know exactly what it's about but given that Tallulah isn't exactly a very common name to use (I think) I wonder if this song was inspired by said story.

Misery05 has it down EXACTLY. I have been in his position, maybe not as widescale as that. But the song is touching. His sorrow and love is expressed very well in this song.

i love the line, actually, maybe 'love' is the wrong word, but anyway the line "I see you walking hand in hand with long-haired drummer of the band." that's good. and sad.

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.
