I'm comin' up so you better get this party started
I'm comin' up so you better get this party started

Get this party started on a Saturday night
Everybody's waitin' for me to arrive
Sendin' out the message to all of my friends
We'll be lookin' flashy in my Mercedes Benz
I got lotsa style, check my gold diamond rings
I can go for miles if you know what I mean

I'm comin' up so you better get this party started
(I'm comin' up, I'm comin')
I'm comin' up so you better get this party started

Pumpin' up the volume, breakin down' to the beat
Cruisin' through the west side
We'll be checkin' the scene
Boulevard is freakin' as I'm comin' up fast
I'll be burnin' rubber, you'll be kissin' my ass
Pull up to the bumper, get out of the car
License plate says "Stunner number one Superstar"

I'm comin' up so you better get this party started
(I'm comin' up, you better)
I'm comin' up so you better get this party started

Get this party started

Makin' my connection as I enter the room
Everybody's chillin' as I set up the groove
Pumpin' up the volume with this brand new beat
Everybody's dancin' and they're dancin' for me
I'm your operator, you can call anytime
I'll be your connection to the party line

I'm comin' up so you better get this party started
(I'm comin' up, I'm comin')
I'm comin' up so you better get this party started
(I'm comin' up, I'm comin')

I'm comin' up so you better get this party started
(I'm comin' up, you better)
I'm comin' up so you better get this party started

Get this party started, oh
Get this party started right now
Get this party started
Get this party started
Get this party started right now

This song is clearly about dealing ecstasy.

First of all "coming up" is slang for when you start to get high on ecstasy.

"Everbody's waiting for me to arrive" - because they want to buy some pills.

"I can go for miles if you know what I mean" - ecstasy lets you keep going all night.

"Making my connection as i enter the room" - letting people know there are pills for sale.

"Everybody's chillen as i set up the groove" - people aren't dancing hard, because they're not high yet.

"I'm your operator you can call anytime / I'll be your connection to the party line" - inviting people to phone up and buy pills.

And finally, this song is out at the same time as that Missy Elliot song where she sings about taking ecstasy.

    :)

Fun song. Its about her going to a party in Northeast Philadelphia and hanging out there. To get to the Northeast (from where she used to live -- my current neighborhood) you have to go through the west side first ("Cruisin through the west side we'll be checking the scene "), and then go on the Roosevelt Boulevard (hence "Boulevarders freakin as I'm coming up fast") The Boulevard itself is one of the most dangerous highways in America -- but tons of fun to drive, anyway.

WOOHOO!! Stretch Armstrong ROCKS!! Their version of this song is great. Pink just...sucks. Her songs are totally played out.
