Symbiont Lyrics

Control my tiniest motions
Withhold my simplest needs
I wish you weren't this close now
I wish you didn't succeed

Yeah, so what - it's another day
You're gonna take it from me anyway
I can't seem to remember now
What it was like to live life before you, symbiont

I want to go but I have to stay
I know you'd be there anyway
I need you and you need me
so much for bliss when I kiss this enemy
Mine
Were dancing on a thin line

Control my tiniest motions
Withhold my simplest needs
I wish I didn't need you now
I wish you didn't need me

Yeah, so what - it's another day
You're gonna take it from me anyway
I can't seem to remember now
What it was like to live life before you, symbiont

I want to go but I have to stay
It doesn't matter if I leave because you'd be there
anyway
I need you and you need me
so much for bliss when I kiss this enemy
Mine
Were dancing on a thin line

Eraseable - Expendable
Untraceable Unmendable

Sounds like another case wanting to hold onto something (a relationship, likely) that he (Klayton) really should just have let go.

I think its about how someones in a love hate relationship, ("kiss the enemey") and how there always ("dancing on a thin line") between wanted to hit each other and kiss and make up.

i can relate this song to any sort of strong addiction;

"I can't seem to remember now (What it was like to live life before you, symbiont)"

  • once you're in an addiction, you find it hard to imagine or remember life without it.

"And I wish I didn't need you now

"I wish I didn't need you now And I wish you didn't need me (Surprised you'd ever even forget, but you're) (Eraseable, expendable) I wish I didn't need you Now (Yeah? Well, you do now, sucker) (Eraseable, expendable) I wish you didn't need me"

this excerpt, i believe, depicts a conversation between a person and the manifestation of their addiction (sorry that i have use that term so many times ...) - the person says "i wish i didn't need you now; i wish you didn't need me", which, when related to drugs or something, is fairly self-explanatory. i'm not sure if the part that says "surprised you'd ever even forget" is accurate, but that line and "well, you do now, sucker", represent the addiction as a voice in the person's head.

i don't want to say too much, but i probably have already; i hope what i've said is understandable.

First of all, the term symbiont means: an organism in a symbiotic relationship. Symbiotic - a relationship between two people in which each person is dependent upon and receives reinforcement, whether beneficial or detrimental, from the other.

"Control my tiniest motions Withhold my simplest needs" I wish you weren't this close now " The character in this song has been having a relationship with somebody, and they wish they hadn't taken it this far. The speaker has become so dependent on this other person (vice versa) that he/she can't live without.

"I wish you didn't succeed" Out of resentment, the person wishes his or her partner didn't succeed, because he/she hates the idea of that other person achieving anything in life.

"Yeah, so what - it's another day You're gonna take it from me anyway" This other person has been so controlling of the speaker that they can't do anything without this other person. He/she wants to break free.

"I can't seem to remember now What it was like to live life before you, symbiont"
Again, the speaker feels like they're being held back by this other person.

"I want to go but I have to stay I know you'd be there anyway I need you and you need me" He/she feels restricted by the relationship that they are in. He/she wants to go, but because of the relationship, is compelled to stay.

"so much for bliss when I kiss this enemy" The feeling of bliss (usually the emotion given by a kiss) is no longer there. The speaker now hates the fact that they're in this relationship still, but can't seem to find a way out of it. "Mine " 'Mine' implies that he/she wants entitlement to their own things. No longer having to share, he/she wants their own life, apart from this other person.

"We're dancing on a thin line" To my interpretation, a 'thin line' is that thin line between love and hate. Judging by the rest of the lyrics, that 'love' he/she used to have for this person is gone.

"I wish I didn't need you now I wish you didn't need me" Again, he/she wants away from this relationship but can't find a way out.

My 2 cents..
