i can relate this song to any sort of strong addiction;

"I can't seem to remember now (What it was like to live life before you, symbiont)"

  • once you're in an addiction, you find it hard to imagine or remember life without it.

"And I wish I didn't need you now

"I wish I didn't need you now And I wish you didn't need me (Surprised you'd ever even forget, but you're) (Eraseable, expendable) I wish I didn't need you Now (Yeah? Well, you do now, sucker) (Eraseable, expendable) I wish you didn't need me"

this excerpt, i believe, depicts a conversation between a person and the manifestation of their addiction (sorry that i have use that term so many times ...) - the person says "i wish i didn't need you now; i wish you didn't need me", which, when related to drugs or something, is fairly self-explanatory. i'm not sure if the part that says "surprised you'd ever even forget" is accurate, but that line and "well, you do now, sucker", represent the addiction as a voice in the person's head.

i don't want to say too much, but i probably have already; i hope what i've said is understandable.
