Dignified in what she does when she sings
The smile that she brings to all of you unaware
Of what's to come
I said tell me what's to come

Green is the color of my envy
It's the color of fame
So I'm gonna write it down to scream it out
And I'm never gonna be the same again

Fear is the color you've all exposed
Now I gotta get up here
And prove the importance
Of my clothes of my pose I suppose again

Hard core superstar by far
You're the ultimate star
Do you want to be a superstar
Well that's what you are
You're gonna be a star
Do you want to be a superstar?

Clever in what she does
Competing for the attention
Of those people that you know
My whole life revolves around
Your absence until
I can't remember what I was or what I am
Who I know or what I know or where I go

Every moment was that moment
Every day was that day
Every second was that second
And I've lost myself again

Soon my face will be on every magazine
And then my voice will be on every frequency
Take my heart while you're at it why don't you
Sign me up to sell me out
I am my angel 'til death I do
I saw my first angel
And it was you

    My Interpretation

Green = money "duh". Fear is the color you've all exposed = figure of speech, to show you the understanding of the end result of the industry. hints the album name.

The song has three personalities. 1. The music industry, speaking through the singer in an inner voice kind of way. 2. the Singer. 3. the Fans.

Most people cant even comprehend what the industry does.

"Clever in what she does competing for the attention Of those people that you know My whole life revolves around your absence Until I can't remember What I was, what I am, What I know or where I go ---- spoken by the fan, with the end result of the industry on the fans, complete confusion. hints the next lines----

Every moment was that moment Every day was that day Every second was that second And I've lost myself again Yes, I've lost myself again

song really creeps me out at the end. sang by both the singer and the fan.

I am my angel 'til death I do -- Became what everyone dreams. Corrupt feeling, of being superior.

I saw my first angel and it was you- Actually claiming that they are Superior, even though they're just people, the industry has won.

    What's to come?

    It was you...)

-Makes me really sad, but thats why i love this song.-

    Hope I helped.

    Love, Derek

This song was written by Tegan about the observations and contemplations she thought of when T&S encountered a "superstar" band when they were younger.

"Soon my face will be on every magazine and my voice will be on every frequency! Take my heart, while you're at it why don't you sign me up to sell me out!"

    Absolute genius!

I also love "I am my angel till death I do, I saw my first angel and it was you!"

To me, this song is about the girls getting more popular and maybe realizing that being a "superstar" isn't so awesome because everyone tries to sell you out and stuff. That's my opinion, although I also like WhiteIron's explanation.

This song is one of my favourites...I like the beat, it's somehow scary...I think. Even though it doesn't touch me in any personal way it is very meaningful and kinda creepy! Love it so much!

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
