Oh, you
It's for you
Only you
It's for you

I'll never know, I'll never care, I'll never believe my people
I'll tell you what I say
I'll never lie, I'll never try, I'll never cry for you people
I'll push you, push away

As you lonely people
Keep on runnin' 'round my door
Yes, you lonely people
Keep on beggin', beg for more

And I'll cry for you, yes, I'll die for you
Pain in my heart it is real
And I'll tell you now how I feel inside
Feel in my heart, it's for you

It's for you
Only you
It's for you

I'll never try, I'll never die, I'll never push for you people
I'll tell you how I feel
I'll never lie, I'll never cry, I'll never try for you people
I'll tell you, yes, it's real

And you lonely people
Keep on passing time away
Yes, you lonely people
Keep on passing, pass away

And I'll cry for you, yes, I'll die for you
Pain in my heart it is real
And I'll tell you now how I feel inside
Feel in my heart it's for you

And I'll take everything as it comes my way
Pushin' your pain 'round my door
And I'll I cry for you as I die for you
Is this blood on my hands all for you?

You shiver and shudder, recovers your mother
You feel it take control
All alone
Feel alive
In your soul

Come around town, steal another dime, take another line
Won't you feel it blanket your soul out of mind
Come around town, steal another dime, do another crime
Won't you get it higher and higher, all through time

Come around town, steal another dime, don't you push your drugs in my face
Yes, I feel it, feeling fine
Don't you push your drugs in my face or I'm gonna put you in your place
Fuck you, I don't want it no more

And it's mine
Said this pain in my heart, it's all mine
Yes, it's mine
All alone

Oh, I don't want it no more
I don't want it no more
I don't want it no more
I don't want it no more

And it's mine
On my own
Yes, it's mine
All alone

As I cry for you, yes, I'll die for you
Pain in my heart, it is real
And I'll take everything as it comes my way
Feel in my heart it's for you

And I'll lie for you as I die for you
Pain in my heart, it is real
And I'll tell you now how I feel inside
Fuck you, it's for you

this song kicks ass plain and simple. the music and lyrics are both awesome; i love how he constructed the lyrics in a way where there are obvious struggles...with drugs, loved ones, and himself; he wants to rid himself of his old life, but at the same time still loves his friends, hence: "i'll never cry for you" and then "i'll cry for you" - the song is very human, very raw, very emotional; my favorite part is after the guitar solo when he screams: "i don't want it no more!!" the one guitar part during that line gives me chills too...it really adds to the effect of the song; kudos to the entire band

The drug part of the song is obvious... it is the perspective that is interesting.

You = the world. I = that which resides in the heart Door = your heart, so open it.

^ Actually, Candlebox were doin their own thing. Nobody talks about them and they're not exactly grunge. They were a bit softer than Soundgarden, what a bland, blind, ignorant statement.

Anybody that has either gone through, or knows someone who has gone through rehab, could tell you this song is most definitely about the feelings and things addicts experience once they have quit.

"You shiver you shudder, recovers your mother..."

Is actually, "You shiver you shudder, recover is your mother. You feel it take control, All alone, Feel alive In your soul"

It's all about accepting pain, not hiding from it any longer. It's about the honesty of reality, and living it rather than escaping it anymore. It's about getting pissed off at anything and anybody that would try to convince you that drugs and escape is a better and more fun way.

It's about getting pissed not only at others around him bringing it around, but about getting pissed at yourself for ever wanting it to begin with.

"Fuck you!" is simply the ultimate angry reaction to all of it.

    It's about survival.

The drug abuse and the pain that comes with it. It's too real. He doesn't want to be around by they follow him around and he loathes it

I'm assuming this song is about drugs. i really have not much of a clue, i just love this song, Candlebox has a really good sound and style and their lyrics are very heartfelt. Its ashame they never really got mainstream.

this song is awesome. i take it to mean about drugs. it reminds me of my ex-boyfriend who was an addict to just about every drug immaginable. and it just really hurt me to see him wasting away like that. there's a limit to everything and he just didn't know where his limit was. this song really encompasses my feelings towards him when we were together. and it helped me get through the heartbreak. thanks candlebox.

I THINK THIS SONG IS ABOUT HIM TRYING TO GET AWAY FROM THE DRUGS AND EVERYONE AROUND HIM IS STILL DOING IT AND HOW HE LOVES/HATES DRUGS. HE DOESN'T WANT TO DO IT HE'S WATCHING HIS FRIENDS DIE. JUST MY THOUGHTS

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.
