Absolutely. Candlebox was probably one of the most underrated bands. They were unfairly stuck into the "post grunge" category and dismissed by critics and the grunge scene. But musically they are great, their songs full of passion and meaning, and they sound nothing like Soundgarden (another great band) or Pearl Jam (an overrated band, IMO). People say that only because his voice is vaguely similar, and it just shows their musical ignorance. Obviously, like all bands, they have their influences, but that doesn't equate to derivative. Many aspects of their sound predate grunge by quite a ways.
