Covered in leather, or plaid patches, or metal studs
Your hair is dyed or spiked with glue
You only talk to those who look and act the way you do
Cause you think you're so fuckin' cool

Punk. Punk. Punk.
Punk by the book.
Book. Book. Book.
Punk by the book.
Book. Book. Book.
Punk by the book.
Book. Book. Book.

You say that punk to you is what's in your mind not what you
wear, but you know you're so full of shit
You scoff at how the cops treat you, but they're no worse than
dicks like you! I just can't understand what you're thinking.

Book. Book. Book.
Punk by the book.
Book. Book. Book.
Punk by the book.
Book. Book. Book.
Punk by the book.
Book. Book. Book.

You're punk by the book...Hey! Hey!
You're punk by the book...Hey! Hey!
You're punk by the book! Book!

This song is also about how some punks have this whole "Punker Than Thou" image and think that anyone who isn't as "punk" as them doesn't deserve to listen to "their" music or dress like them.

this song is about all those people that dress like "punks" and pretend they're all into the scene when punk isnt about image its a state of mind.

Hilarious, those that dress like punks might listen to OK music, but when you got patches of the Rancid logo, or the Dead Kennedys logo...your way out, I mean, you totally are a walking piece of shit. Those bands are dead, and quite frankly, their music sucks. Just because they are "true punks", doesn't mean that they are the best.

Good song, good song. thank you Cheer up emo kidx, you took the words right out of my mouth. bravo. being punk doesn't have to revolve around causing riots and having dyed hair, piercings and whatnot... being punk is different for everybody. and i just like to think of it as being me. not being punk. people (like people that this song describes) are creating a stereotypical punk image, and no one likes being stereotyped. it's all about the music. i'm not punk, goth, emo, or whatever. i just love the music, and i express it by the way i dress. just giving props to the bands that make me happy.

i think this song pretty much descibes one of the kids at the local concerts i go to, he says, "if you dont hang out in my group, you're a poser." And i hate that because it just pisses everyone off.

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Dreamwalker
Silent Planet
I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.

American Town
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran shares a short story of reconnecting with an old flame on “American Town.” The track is about a holiday Ed Sheeran spends with his countrywoman who resides in America. The two are back together after a long period apart, and get around to enjoying a bunch of fun activities while rekindling the flames of their romance.
