Far Away Lyrics

[Verse 1: Benjamin Burnley & Scooter Ward]
Hope stopped the heart, lost beaten lie
Cold walk the Earth, love faded wide
Gave up the war, I’ve realized
All will become, all will arise

[Pre-Chorus: Scooter Ward & Benjamin Burnley]
Stay with me
I hear them call the tide
Take me in
I see the last divide
Hopelessly
I leave this all behind
And I am paralyzed

[Chorus: Scooter Ward & Benjamin Burnley]
When the broken fall alive
Let the light take me too
When the waters turn to fire
Heaven, please, let me through
Far away, far away
Sorrow has left me here
Far away, far away
Let the light take me in

[Verse 2: Scooter Ward & Benjamin Burnley]
Fight back the flood, one breath of life
God take the Earth, forever blind
And now the sun will fade
And all we are is all we made

[Pre-Chorus: Scooter Ward & Benjamin Burnley]
Stay with me
I hear them call the tide
Take me in
I see the last divide
Hopelessly
I leave this all behind
And I am paralyzed

[Chorus: Scooter Ward & Benjamin Burnley]
When the broken fall alive
Let the light take me too
When the waters turn to fire
Heaven, please, let me through
Far away, far away
Sorrow has left me here
Far away, far away
Let the light take me in

[Bridge: Scooter Ward & Benjamin Burnley]
Ooh
All will fall for once
Ooh
I'll become the lost
Ooh
All will fall for once
Ooh
I'll become the lost

[Chorus: Benjamin Burnley & Scooter Ward]
When the broken fall alive
Let the light take me too
When the waters turn to fire
Heaven, please, let me through
Far away, far away
Sorrow has left me here
Far away, far away
Let the light take me here
Far away, far away (Ooh)
Let the light take me in
Far away, far away (Ooh)
Let the light take me in

I think of this song as a plea for faith and preservation of all that is good on this earth. The lyrics to me speak of how the savior above can only so much, we also have to cleanse our own selves in reparation - if we plan on making our journey to meet him one day.

My Interpretation

Breaking Benjamin is a great band. Benjamin Burnley is known for writing songs we can fully immerse ourselves in emotionally and a way to relate to the songs the way we choose to

Breaking Benjamin is not by any means a religious band but they do have some songs that really relate to religion.

Far away on the Aurora album is a great song. It's about the rapture. The day that all of our souls (the faithful ones or religious ones are lifted up to heaven and finally are given peace.

"Cold walk the Earth, love faded wide" I think this means that all cold souls, emotionless people (bad people) still walk the earth after the (faithful to god people) have been called up to heaven. "Love faded wide" this means that the people who weren't emotionless, the people who loved and cared for one another are faded from earth and guided towards the lights of heaven. At the end of the music video scooter ward is pulled up to heaven through the white light. Benjamin Burnley on the other hand is down below, looking up at him being guided up to heaven. I think Benjamin Burnley is trying to tell us something here. Maybe there's something that he has done in the past that he feels could result in him being left behind after the rapture. He feels guilty for it. "Sorrow has left me here" he's sad, depressed... Depression has left him on earth to reflect on what he's done. He wants to go to heaven but he's afraid to cross over because he thinks he might go to hell. He's begging that he goes to heaven but at the end of the song he still stands on earth. He's left behind after the rapture. So he must not be going to heaven.

Something like that anyways.

Ok..the lines sorrow has left me here and I'll become the lost.. are probably like the saddest lines of any song I've ever heard since this song is obviously referring to Armageddon or Rapture. There's also a line I hear them call the tide.. so if you havebeen on a beach and seen the tide drain the water away to make the beach go out farther than you thought possible, then you have seen something cool, but what if it kept going and there was no more water? Rev21:1 Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away (vanished), and there is no longer any sea"..so is this "them calling the tide"? Making the ocean vanish? I don't know. There's also a line "the sun will fade and all we are is all we made"...this is reminesent of 2Pet3:10 " But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, and then the heavens will vanish with a [mighty and thunderous] roar, and the [material] elements will be destroyed with intense heat, and the earth and the works that are on it will be burned up."..so all we made are the works on it that will be burned up..the English Standard Translation gets even more specific to say "and the heavenly bodies[a] will be burned up and dissolved, and the earth and the works that are done on it will be exposed."..so it's more than just a hot sun scorching the earth...it's heavenly bodies(everything?)being burned up and earth with all we made being exposed to the dissolving blast

@rich saiud "I see the last divide"..Matt25: "31 When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory:32 And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats:33 And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.
