Twenty four seconds, yeah, you better not stop
You got twenty four seconds, can you beat the shot clock?
What you waitin' on lil' daddy? I ain't got that much time
You seem anxious, you seem adamant but you ain't press my line
Wondering why, why, why (oh why)
Know you ain't shy, shy, shy (oh why)
I'ma say bye, bye, bye, better know I won't think twice (yeah)
Better let go of your pride (do-do)
Do it now (do-do), just do it now (do-do), oh yeah (do-do)

When that nigga pull up on me, tell that nigga back, back
Don't you know all of these niggas wish that they could bag that?
I'm just saying, boy, you playing, you gon' let it wind down
You got twenty four seconds and it's starting right now

Shot clock (don't sleep, don't sleep)
You're gon' miss your opportunity
Shot clock (like, don't sleep, don't sleep, nigga)
Pick up your feet, nigga
Shot clock (like, don't sleep, don't sleep) (do-do)
You're gon' miss your opportunity (do-do)
Shot clock (like, don't sleep, don't sleep, nigga)
Pick up your feet, my nigga

Five years of dating
Tired of being patient
What the fuck you waiting for?
Yeah
It's a lot of niggas hating and I don't entertain 'em
But damn, you gotta give me more
(Shhh, I know, I know and I'm really trying)
Oh-oh, if you don't want it like me
I could think about a hundred things I could be doing right now
Than wasting my time with you, oh (do-do)
Okay, okay, since you gotta have it your way (do-do)
I'ma start that clock on you (do-do)
We gon' see what's up

When that nigga pull up on me, tell that nigga back, back
Don't you know all of these niggas wish that they could bag that? (All of these nigga, bag that)
I'm just saying, boy, you playing, you gon' let it wind down (wind down)
You got twenty four seconds and it's starting right now (right now)

Shot clock (like, don't sleep, don't sleep)
You're gon' miss your opportunity
Shot clock (like, don't sleep, don't sleep, nigga)
Pick up your feet, nigga
Shot clock (like, don't sleep, don't sleep) (do-do)
You're gon' miss your opportunity (do-do)
Shot clock (like, don't sleep, don't sleep, nigga)
Pick up your feet, my nigga, shot clock

Twenty four seconds (don't sleep, don't sleep)
You're gon' miss your opportunity
You got twenty four seconds (like, don't sleep, don't sleep, nigga)
Pick up your feet, nigga
Ay, don't sleep, don't sleep
You're gon' miss your opportunity
You're gon' miss your opportunity (like, don't sleep, don't sleep, nigga)
Pick up your feet, my nigga
Shot clock

L, Love
Add "-rs" and that's surely what we are
Flip it 'round, add "-ve" and let's see if this goes far
Full of chuckles and cuddles and sometimes, eye puddles
Compose love like we're Mozart

Fortnight
Taylor Swift
The song 'Fortnight' by Taylor Swift and Post Malone tells a story about strong feelings, complicated relationships, and secret wishes. It talks about love, betrayal, and wanting someone who doesn't feel the same. The word 'fortnight' shows short-lived happiness and guilty pleasures, leading to sadness. It shows how messy relationships can be and the results of hiding emotions. “I was supposed to be sent away / But they forgot to come and get me,” she kickstarts the song in the first verse with lines suggesting an admission to a hospital for people with mental illnesses. She goes in the verse admitting her lover is the reason why she is like this. In the chorus, she sings about their time in love and reflects on how he has now settled with someone else. “I took the miracle move-on drug, the effects were temporary / And I love you, it’s ruining my life,” on the second verse she details her struggles to forget about him and the negative effects of her failure. “Thought of callin’ ya, but you won’t pick up / ‘Nother fortnight lost in America,” Post Malone sings in the outro.

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Cajun Girl
Little Feat
Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”
