If I was to listen I'd turn back
Give up on my reasons
Forgive up the past
You think I'd swallow that?
Bearing weight in ceilings
Just to stop and ask of Thorazine
Thora Zine, Thora Zine, Thorazine
They give you this
They take away that
Thorazine

There'll be no others
There'll be no long lost friends
Empty on the insides
Empty of a last pretense
To stand by on feeling of the end

So many lives
A runaway life
So many lies

When they locked you up they shut me out
Gave me the key so I could show you around
Yet we were not allowed
Omens of the daydream
But caught as you're bound in Thora Zine
Thora Zine, Thora Zine, Thorazine
They give you this
They take away that
Thorazine

There'll be no rallies
There'll be no long lost friends
Caught on a spotlight running out of present tense
To fix by a feeling of an end

So many lives
A runaway life

Please come back
Please come back
Please come back Pale Horse

Please come back
Please come back
Please come back Pale Horse

Please come back
Please come back
Please come back Pale Horse

Please come back
Please come back
Please come back Pale Horse

    Song Meaning

i hate to say this EVERY single song, but this is so beautiful. "Please come back... please come back... Pale Horse.." the background vocals by Nicole are amazing. NO Reliance on power-chords, and REALLY good bass. for some reason, it doesn't sound like Billy's bass playing. Nicole definitely had a lot of influence in this album. it's not ALL Billy, like the other albums. other than that, this is just a REALLY catchy melody.

Thorazine is used to treat schizophrenia, and other mental disorders. it can also treat explosive, aggressive behavior in children up to age 12. but i've seen the affects of it with my own eyes. is it doing any good? it's very hard to tell. it causes alot of eerie side-affects. "They give you this [Thorazine], they take away that [Possibly your own MIND, or your sanity.]. Thooorraziine..Thorazine."

that's kind of what i get out of this song. it's got an upbeat to it, but the lyrics are kind of depressing. like 'Today'.

Agree with the take on Thorazine and I think that we're out of the "concept" portion fo the album.

Thorazine is Chlorpromazine ( it is marketed in the U.S. as Thorazine) and is used to treat schizophrenia.

In old horror movies that featured asylums you'd always have a character that just shuffled around everywhere, but went nowhere... that can be a side effect of Thorazine.

Thorazine, just like any other drug that is involve in seretonin adjustments, causes the mind of the patient to become less aggresive (mainly used to treat psychosis.) Thus "they give you this(the medication), they take away that(making you void of any feeling)" I can personally relate to the lyrics of this song as I experience the "numbness" that comes with taking antidepressants to take away the emotional torment. I feel almost as if i am engulfed in an apothic cavity/ a walking zombie.

Standing On The Edge Of Summer

In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Cajun Girl
Little Feat
Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Blue
Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.
