Beyond the reaches of our galaxy
Three figures watch over us all
As suns are rising on a distant planet's shores
They are watching, and waiting, always orchestrating

Celestial covering of human kind
Perfectly hovering in space and time
A world that turns when you're in control
Means we're bound to stand on ground that's unshakeable

Beyond the reaches of mortality
Three figures watch over us all
As suns are setting on a distant planet's shores
They are watching, and waiting, always orchestrating

Celestial covering of human kind
Perfectly hovering in space and time
A world that turns when you're in control
Means we're bound to stand on ground that's unshakeable

Obviously (and thankfully) a reference to his Christian Beliefs

Heb 12:28 So since we are receiving an UNSHAKEABLE kingdom, let us give thanks, and through this let us offer worship pleasing to God in devotion and awe.

"Beyond the reaches of our galaxy Three figures (Father, Son, Holy Spirit ?) watch over us all As suns are rising on a distant planet's shores They are watching, and waiting, always orchestrating

Celestial covering of human kind Perfectly hovering in space in time A world that turns when They're in control Means we're bound to stand on ground that's UNSHAKEABLE"

Actually Klayton is no longer a religions man. he used to be a devout Christian but they messed him around a bit and he denounced his faith. I can't remember where i heard him say this or i would quote it.

Either way, i believe it would mean the same thing. You don't have to be a christian to sing about it.

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
