oh oh oh oh (4x)

Go to bed and when it's cool and blue
And we wake up to a city on fire
One day I'm in love with you
The next I've lost all my desire
Some say that it's in my head
They know someone that I should talk to
All I know is when your in my bed
It's terrible that I could walk or lay down,
I wanna get this all out, all over you,
stay down I hope that you don't mind being used,
oh

I can see now once again
You keep me warm and keep me guessing
Don't know what you did or seen
But sometimes this feels like obsession
On the bed, your one sound But feels like I've been here forever
Was the one that hunt you down
Cause I feel like this next to never lay down,
I'm gonna get this all out, all over you,
stay down I hope that you don't mind being used, oh

Shake me
But you cant make me
Do what I don't want to
It's human nature
Promise, it's what you wanted
This is your future, with me

If you wanted something less,
Then why are you here every morning?
Now I know I must confess that you've become the other women
I remember once you said that you thought that I gave you balance
Don't know why I lost my head
Maybe it's cause your a challenge

lay down, I gonna get this all out, all over you, stay down
I hope you that don't mind being used
So, lay down, I'm gonna get this all out, all over you, stay down
I hope that you don't mind being used, oh oh oh ooh

    Song Meaning

I believe the meaning of this song goes along the lines of that the singer is already in a relationship with someone else, but they're having an affair with someone they have a hot/cold relationship with. And even though the person they're with may possibly love the singer, the singer knows she's using them and cheating on her other partner, thus making the metaphor that they've become the "other woman". (Even though we would think this would mean maybe the singer's second lover is a woman, the age-old metaphor is "I've become the other woman," not "I've become the other man," thus they could be either male or female.)

    Lyric Correction

Most of this is incorrect. Mostly in the second verse. I put little star things around the corrections.

I can see now what's your game You keep me won and keep me guessing Don't know what you've heard or seen But sometimes this feels like obsession I've known you for a few months now But I feel like I've known you forever Was the one that hunt you down Cause I feel like this next to never...

Then again in the last verse. And "your" is possessive. For the last line, the correct word would be "you're," for "you are."

If you wanted something less, Then why are you here every morning? Now I know I must confess that you've become the other women I remember once you said that you thought that I gave you balance Don't know why I lost my head Maybe it's cause you're a child

Like a lot of the other comments are saying, I think this mainly about voyeurism. If the song was about his girlfriend, then why would he use the word spy. If you are a spy it means you shouldn't be caught, that is kind of the whole point, and if you are a voyeur, the whole point of the pleasure you get from it, is the fact that the other people don't know you are watching them. See a bit of a connection there?

This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.
