Since music was created for worshipping the one who loves you and whom you love, which should be the Same, a song is interpreted through the resident(s) of the soul, mind, spirit. That said I don't know anything about the band or what the song meant to the writer, but is mine.

The meaning of this song to me is that a man dies and when he dies he still feels like he is alive (a life after death sort of experience). An example in the lyrics is "fly into the distance, disappear for a while" this is referencing that he still does not know he is dead also in the lyrics is "but we're here feeling alive". This last lyrics example is about how when he does realize he is dead, he wants to take control and live again. This relates to a song on the same album titled 'Sounds of a Playground Fading' which is about a nuclear blast & how the victims were all killed in seconds and didn't yet know they were dead.
