The meaning of this song to me is that a man dies and when he dies he still feels like he is alive (a life after death sort of experience). An example in the lyrics is "fly into the distance, disappear for a while" this is referencing that he still does not know he is dead also in the lyrics is "but we're here feeling alive". This last lyrics example is about how when he does realize he is dead, he wants to take control and live again.
