Over and over, again and again
Keep my head down, it is my friend
Other wonders can't explain
As I fall into this life again
When it's over in the end
Head's all empty, it is my friend
Withered under slanted rain
As I fall into this love again
Chorus:
Head
(Rob: I've been known to screw the pooch...oh yeah)*
I just can't get enough
So I keep on playing
(Rob: It's an awful lot like you)*
And I just can't get it up
So I keep on praying
(Rob: I've been known to screw the pooch...oh yeah)*
I just can't get enough
So I keep on playing
(Rob: Well...)*
Weather, thunder, ample rain
I get my feet wet, I get my pain
Over and under fields of green
Get my head wet, keep it clean
When it's over in the end
Head's all empty, it is my friend
Other wonders can't explain
As I fall into this life again
Keep my head down, it is my friend
As I fall into this life again
Head's all empty, it is my friend
As I fall into this love again
Head
(Rob: I've been known to screw the pooch...oh yeah)*
I just can't get enough
So I keep on playing
(Rob: It's an awful lot like you)*
And I just can't get it up
So I keep on praying
(Rob: I've been known to screw the pooch...oh yeah)*
I just can't get enough
So I keep on playing
(Rob: Well...)*
I get my feet wet, I get my pain
Get my head wet, keep it clean
Head's all empty, it is my friend
As I fall into this life again

Al:
"Head" is another tune that was written during the mixing of NO DOY. I actually came up with the main riff one night after everyone had gone home. I was playing my guitar very loudly with all sorts of abandon, as boys will often do. I wasn't sure if everyone would like it, or if it would even be appropriate as a MOE. tune. We all did in fact like it and spend some time coming up with the meat of the song. The idea for the subject matter was to write a song that could be about any and all things pertaining to the title. Sort of a random 'Head Study #9' or "Still Life With Head' so to speak.
