Give me any reason to believe
'Cause I swear I'm done here
'Cause I've seen a bigger picture
And I'm looking for some answers

Tell me that it's worth it
'Cause I'm doing all I can to fight it
And I've never been this scared
And my moment's finally here

Time's racing (Please slow down)
I gotta find my way out
I'm hopeless (But hoping)
My lungs won't fail me now
'Cause I'm still breathing

It's hard to be a man
But I'm doing all I can
I'm ready to give this all I have
I'm ready to be amazed
'Cause I'm standing here alone
Trying to make this life my own
And nothing will keep this heart from beating
I'm still breathing

Promise me some dignity
If I were to stand and die here
'Cause my heart is somewhere else
It's a pain I've never felt

Time's racing (Please slow down)
I gotta find my way out
I'm hopeless (But hoping)
My lungs won't fail me now
'Cause I'm still breathing

It's hard to be a man
But I'm doing all I can
I'm ready to give this all I have
I'm ready to be amazed
'Cause I'm standing here alone
Trying to make this life my own
And nothing will keep this heart from beating
I'm still breathing

Where do we all find love?
Where do we all find love?

It's hard to be a man
But I'm doing all I can
I'm ready to give this all I have
I'm ready to be amazed (I'm still breathing)
'Cause I'm standing here alone
Trying to make this life my own (I'm still breathing)
And nothing will keep this heart from beating
I'm still breathing

okay I am in love with this song! I could be wayyyyy off but to me this song just seems to be speaking about life with all its ups and downs. In my situation I've have suicidal thoughts for a while and even if I don't act upon them, its hard not to think about my life struggles. I overcome them every day and just the song title "Still Breathing" speaks to me, because in the end I'm still breathing. "Tell me that its worth it cause I'm doing what I can to fight it, but I've never been this scared" is a perfect example of that. "Times racing, please slow down, I've got to find my way out, I'm hopeless...still hoping" I'm also 16...which means the pressures of moving out and going to college is getting closer and closer. I'm not sure where to go and what to do and its stressing me out a lot. so that line really speaks to me. There is soooooo much more I could add to with this song...I feel like its speaking my life. Past relationships, struggles with suicide, life after high school, you name it...its there...sorry if you think its wrong, but that's just my perspective of the song :)

I know this doesn't seem like the true meaning, but just go over the lyrics and think of someone dying...for example a cancer patient? It reminds me of MCR slightly, but anyway this song reminds me of death...as sad as that sounds! I love it though, and I can see it in a romantic sense as well <3

    My Interpretation

This song automatically made me think of my ex-boyfriend and what he's been trying to tell me for a while. We've been back and forth for a couple of years now, but things got really bad near the end of our senior year of high school. We still talk and mess around. I still love him and I honestly feel like he's where I'm meant to be, but he says differently.

So I'm constantly trying to convince him to let us have another chance, but he keeps resisting (Give me any reason to believe.../Tell me that it's worth it.../'Cause my heart is somewhere else).

Now he's enlisted in the Air Force and is leaving in a couple of months for basic training to get out of this small town of ours ('Cause I swear I'm done here.../I gotta find my way out.../Trying to make this life my own...).

But recently, a situation has come up that's kinda forcing the both of us to grow up really fast, and he's caught between leaving me behind along with this town for good and owning up to our responsibility (It's hard to be a man, but I'm doing all I can...) because we're both pretty much still kids in a way.

i think its about growing up. the realization like "hey im really on my own" and its scary. but he's saying to himself: "suck it up, be a man, you can do this"

I think of it as kind of like a cancer patient too. Like they say for example... "Give me some reason to believe Cause i swear i'm done here Cause i've seen a bigger picture And i'm looking for some answers." I think hes saying that He's been struggling for so long with cancer, and nobody found anything that could help him. And he's about to give up, He just wants answers, and he's not getting them. "Tell me that it's worth it Cause i'm doing all i can to fight it And i've never been this scared And my moments finally here" He just wants someone to be there, and to tell him that everything's going to be okay, and he can get through this.

it kind of is like a relationship. the guy/girl is looking for a way out to get out of their relationship. he wants the girl to ultimately tell him why he should stay with her & nothing she does will kill him. If she promises him dignity for staying in a relationship where he feels like he's trapped & dying, then it might give him some leverage. He's been in this relationship & he's beginning to see that he just may be better on his own ("ready to be amazed") & she just might not be right for him.

Promise me some dignity If I were to stand and die here 'Cause my heart is somewhere else It's a pain I've never felt

he just wants her to finally see what he's saying rather than play him as a joke. he's finally moving on to the thought of him being alone & dealing with the emotions that go on.

i agree that its trying to grow up and realise your life is your own.

he is caught in a box where he cant be himself and hes suffocating. he has to grow up to be able to escape. he realises he is a fighter and nothing will keep him from what he deserves.

    love this song.

    My Interpretation

first off, i love this song.

when i hear songs i immediately try and relate it to my life and situations i'm in. i take this as from the aspect of a relationship. i see it as, someone is in a relationship and their significant other is breaking them down, there's nothing AMAZING about this relationship that they are in.

this person has found someone who loves them and truly cares for them... they know that this other person is better for them than the person they are in the relationship with. they don't want to leave the person they are in the relationship with so they're asking them for reasons to stay.

Give me any reason to believe 'Cause I swear I'm done here 'Cause I've seen a bigger picture And I'm looking for some answers

this person doesn't want to make any sudden decisions... they want to make sure its the right one. But since this relationship is breaking this person down, they want to be promised dignity and not be broken down anymore. They feel bad because they've found someone else and are longing to be with the other person "Cause my heart is somewhere else"

Promise me some dignity If I were to stand and die here 'Cause my heart is somewhere else It's a pain I've never felt

I'm probably way off and this probably makes no sense.

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.
