I think germophobe has it, completely insane and hilarious paranoia. Some don't reply to his insane letters, most send cops. Neil is a genius, it may not make a particular point, or tell all that much of a story, but damn can he write some killer lines. Song name is a play on words: Smokestack Lightning is a classic blues song by Howlin Wolf ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Smokestack_lightning ) about a cheating woman. According to the wiki article the song name was inspired by observing trains at night billowing smoke and sparks.
Sleestak are the lizard guys from Land of the Lost ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sleestak#Sleestak )
So the song protagonist feels he is being chased by Sleestaks and has made preparations such as purchasing bulk duct tape and notifying the proper authorities. But no one believes him...

I absolutely love that he rhymed meth-head with method.
I love the humor but I gotta say that I like "I Send Pictures" more.
I have to politely disagree....there is a word missing near the end of the song. 'Chupacabras on my tail, its a dire situation, they are on my tail.....'ect. Still hilarious paranoia, but its about him chasing, studying and then being chased by the chupacabra, to me, that is why the song starts out by saying West Virginia has its Moth Man, Pan handlers got their Skunk Ape.' Skunk Ape is another name for Big Foot.

I corrected the lyrics, the last part was wrong. He had put in a part to much and he forgot the Chupacabra's part. :)
