When I wake, I wanna be a child
Ache about the small things and break down for awhile
Walk beside my mother and watch my father smile
Argue with the other kids and make my girlfriend cry

Joy and happiness
Joy and innocence in never knowing what exists
Beyond our own backyard

When I wake, I wanna be a man
Hair upon my face and a hammer in my hand
Raise a couple kids and live off of the land
Have a woman in my bed who knows I'm doing the best I can

Joy and happiness
Joy and loving kindness
Joy in the peace of mind when I lay my head to rest

We're drifting, driving our cars over the bridge
We're sifting through all the remains
We're drifting, driving our cars over the bridge
We're lifting the weight off our shoulders

Slow down, take another line
These things don't come so easy, it takes a little time
Satisfy your body and ignore your mind
Satisfy your body and you just might find

Joy and happiness
Joy and loving kindness
Joy in the innocence
Joy and happiness

Josiah leaked this song on his myspace August 14th. Sorry you can't hear it, lol. But maybe it'll be on the album.

    Thanks Josiah!

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Silent Planet
I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Blue
Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.

Punchline
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran sings about missing his former partner and learning important life lessons in the process on “Punchline.” This track tells a story of battling to get rid of emotions for a former lover, whom he now realized might not have loved him the same way. He’s now caught between accepting that fact and learning life lessons from it and going back to beg her for another chance.

American Town
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran shares a short story of reconnecting with an old flame on “American Town.” The track is about a holiday Ed Sheeran spends with his countrywoman who resides in America. The two are back together after a long period apart, and get around to enjoying a bunch of fun activities while rekindling the flames of their romance.
